I quite liked Dancing Teapot for this, but the price is definitely a concern. I’ve give her a chance though

June 20, 2025 at 17:07 #1734097Kieran Shoemark beats the Gosden horse he would have been riding but for a certain 2000g ride – small victories and all that!
June 20, 2025 at 17:12 #1734098Could he have done the weight? Not sure he could, Gosden doesnt use Saffie often. Interesting re the draw, they are shunning the side of the track the very high drawn horses come from entirely. I suspected the clerk might try and level the playing field and the only explanation for shunning that side completely is surely related to watering.
June 20, 2025 at 17:27 #1734105Saffie must be kicking herself. First three drawn low. but the only one of them to choose to go towards the middle (possibly not her choice, connections?) until crossing back to the far side. Looked as if the horse lost quite a bit of ground and then had to use the horse to get back to them.
Value Is EverythingJune 20, 2025 at 17:36 #1734109You might be right as 8-9 has been his lowest riding weight according to his stats on RP that he has done in the last 12 months but maybe he would have lost the weight to do the 8-7 considering it would have been for his own stable and a Royal Ascot ride too (in the current heat, I doubt he would have much trouble losing 2 lbs either!).
Assume they have an irrigation boom that stretches across the whole straight track when they water so unsure how one side could be affected more by the watering than the other side but clearly once jockeys get it in their head that there is a bias then the only thing that will convince them otherwise is when a horse wins from from the percceived unfavoured side and then everyone will want to be on that side.
