Absolutely facile victory.
Gold Cup next year?
March 13, 2025 at 15:27 #1723502A very impressive performance.
Definitely the correct decision to come here – he wouldn’t stay 3m 2f in a horsebox.
March 13, 2025 at 15:29 #1723503Well from a punting point of view that was perfect , Heart Wood ran a cracker and should be winning this races , the French horse didn’t get up the hill and that should worry any Banbridge backers
March 13, 2025 at 15:30 #1723504Wow! Brilliant performance.
Value Is EverythingMarch 13, 2025 at 15:30 #1723505Wd winners.
March 13, 2025 at 15:30 #1723506He probably won’t Glad but why wouldn’t JP give it just one go? Especially if his two tomorrow make no impact.
March 13, 2025 at 15:30 #1723507Get in
Would have won the Gold Cup this year if Galopin wasn’t aroundCharles Darwin to conquer the World
March 13, 2025 at 15:31 #1723508No, he wouldn’t stay 3m2f, but the King George has to be taken into serious consideration as there will be no GDC there. And the French horse might never return to GB/IRE again. Why should he?
March 13, 2025 at 15:31 #1723509Nobody will convince me Willie didn’t hold that horse back to keep him away from Galopin Des Champs in the Gold Cup.
He was never going to let one of his own jeopardise a 3rd Gold Cup attempt.Grangeclare West should have gotten nowhere near that horse a few weeks back.
FTF was idling all the way up the hill he was that much superior to the rest today.
March 13, 2025 at 15:31 #1723510I think he’d have stayed fine but whether he’d beat Galopin is another matter. He’d have at least placed in a Gold Cup on ability alone, he’s not that headstrong.
March 13, 2025 at 15:32 #1723512“the French horse didn’t get up the hill and that should worry any Banbridge backers”
Why?
They’re two different horses. Just because one didn’t handle the course doesn’t mean that the other won’t. And Banbridge has won at Cheltenham more than once before.
March 13, 2025 at 15:35 #1723513On this going he’d get the distance alright hes a beast
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
March 13, 2025 at 15:37 #1723515Great run, GC next year or one eye on the GN.
March 13, 2025 at 15:37 #17235164/1 for the King George. I would be all over that if it was any other trainer but Mullins seems to have an aversion to the race.
March 13, 2025 at 15:38 #1723517He couldn’t even beat Grangeclare West a few weeks back. Willie wanted him in the Ryanair and made sure he got his way as always.
March 13, 2025 at 15:38 #1723519Glad that KG form is iffy , just my view but I won’t be backing him , if Galopin does his usual it’ll be genuine stayers chasing him , Banbridge ain’t that
March 13, 2025 at 15:40 #1723521FTF has just shown great speed at 2 1/2 miles.

For sure he won a slowly run Browns last year. But hasn’t stayed a truly run 3 miles in top company. Even beaten by Grangecare West.
Unless it is very soft at Kempton he may well win the King George. But right now, probability is he’ll never be as good at the Gold Cup trip.
Forget the Gold Cup, there are other top quality races to be won.
