Wasted your money, Mike. There is no chance he is running here.
January 27, 2024 at 14:44 #1678751I wonder if The Real Whacker comes here , he can’t win the GC
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 27, 2024 at 14:53 #1678756I did say ‘for now’ ;o)
Jonbon well up to winning this going that bit slower. I said at the start of the season finishing second every year at the Festival is a wasted career when he can win one up in trip.
January 27, 2024 at 14:59 #1678759HDLG, the trainer was interviewed on RTV and confirmed it was the Gold Cup next.
January 27, 2024 at 15:04 #1678762I hope they enjoy the day ….
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 27, 2024 at 16:17 #1678818Henderson saying nothing has really changed so cashed that one in.
January 27, 2024 at 16:25 #1678820Mike the Cash Out King.
January 29, 2024 at 21:45 #1679083VtC, even as president of the Banbridge fan club, you must be delighted with that 25-1. what were they thinking? I was happy with 10-1 nrnb. Well done even at this stage, and to Cork All Star too, for such crazy odd stealing
My second shout in this is Ash Tree Meadow 50/1 nrnb
January 30, 2024 at 17:49 #1679111Yeah, it was too big at that 25’s, but I’m always going to be wary of him Antepost. I’d genuinely be happy with 10’s NRNB at this stage. I hope Corks got more on at 25’s than I have, as my lions share is at 16’s. The 25’s was just a top up.
I’ll definitely have another in this, and swaying towards Janidil or Jungle Boogie, who’re both decent odds NRNB. I’m just wary of doing loads of bets across the board NRNB. I’ll probably add one of them the next 48 hours
January 30, 2024 at 21:56 #1679139Unfortunately not VTC. I could only get the same amount I had on at 14/1, so I suppose I am on at 19.5/1 combined. Still happy with that – I just hope they run him this year!
After timing but I had a very small saver on Fil D’Or at 33/1 after he was put up by the Racing Post jury (I supplied the link earlier in the thread). He is a shorter price now but he is one of the horses in the dispersal sale next week. I assume Elliott will try to keep hold of him.
February 6, 2024 at 16:27 #1680151Jonbon has been taken out of this race, to no one’s surprise. Just as well Mike cashed out.
February 10, 2024 at 16:40 #1680722Skelton interviewed on SSR says Protektorat is unlikely to run in the Gold Cup and might run in this race instead. Or be saved for Aintree.
He would not be without a chance in this race if he could recover his best form but that is looking like a big “if”.
March 3, 2024 at 19:09 #1683470Added Conflated here. Wanted a backup in case Banbridge doesn’t trap.
Absolutely bang even on the race Antepost, and Conflated a token gesture at this stage with my small profit put his way.
Definitely still interested in Janidil.
I like Capodanno too, but couldn’t justify adding him at the prices
Banbridge 25’s (Laid 4.3)
Conflated 8’s NRNBMarch 3, 2024 at 22:09 #1683490Backed Protektorat @ 16/1, too big to ignore.
Value Is EverythingMarch 4, 2024 at 07:24 #1683506I have had a saver on him as well, Ginger. If he can recapture his best form he is a big player. Even some of this season’s form gives him a shout.
I am concerned Banbridge will be a non runner, again!
Kevin Blake, connected to the O’Brien stable, was on the At The Races Cheltenham preview show. He as good as made it clear the horse will not run if the ground is soft.March 4, 2024 at 10:55 #1683519Not sure why Banbridge is favoured over a three-time Festival winner. Envoi Allen is 164, and Banbridge 161. Not sure the latter is worth that mark. Both ideally want good ground, but Banbridge is the more ground dependent of the two.
March 5, 2024 at 18:31 #1683686Went through this race yesterday, looking for something to take on the top of the market with. I kept scrolling down the list until I landed on Janidil at 50/1.
He needs to leave a bad run at Kempton behind him but he has thrown in bad runs in the past and bounced back so I feel like the price more than compensates for this. The pick of his form over the past 2-3 years would put him right in the mix and I thought 10/1 to place in this company is just too big, albeit for small stakes given his patchy profile.
From a win perspective Capodanno probably rates the most interesting but I’ll wait until next week and see what way the ground is.
