This race looks tailor made for Barbers Shop. What race is he likely to go for this or the Gold Cup?
Ryanair,No question this year!
February 8, 2010 at 23:05 #275039Yep a deffo runner and for me, a storming bet
Not a scared jumper like vinny

Joncol is an absolute beauty to look at but he is not a Ryanair horse, he showed yesterday his future is over further, the softer the ground the better! Voy Por will have too many gears over 21/2m around Cheltenham! If Joncol did nothing from now to winning next years Irish Hennessey again, connections would have no complaints!
Voy Por Ustedes was no match for Joncol in the Lexus. If the race had been 3f shorter I doubt he would have turned the tables.
February 9, 2010 at 00:29 #275047TAPK, Massini’s Maguire does not jump fences well enough to win this, which is a shame as he has got a proper engine.

At 70"s he"s worth the risk Aragorn, particularly if he gets good ground,he is a horse that floats over it,so should help his jumping hopefully!

You"re not seeing the wood from the trees thm,i"m afraid!

He didn’t jump last year and has whacked a fence just about every race he’s run in. It won’t happen.
February 10, 2010 at 07:10 #275303There’s little chance of Joncol going for the Ryanair and even if he did there’s very little chance of him winning.
I have PoS @ 16s and 14s and still think he is the value at 10s
February 10, 2010 at 08:26 #275307Although I admire Massini’s Maguire it would take a lot for him to win this or even be placed.
Out of Hobbs’s runners Planet of Sound looks the best bet – looks to have been laid out for this.
February 12, 2010 at 20:49 #275949If Trafford Lad can come back to his best form after his injury he will be a top horse later this year and next year.
February 13, 2010 at 21:46 #276383TAPK – Still all over Voy Por?!
In your defence, Thornton does not look right to me. He isn’t riding well and seemed to be grimacing when getting a leg up today.
VPU will not be winning the Ryanair though.

That was what we call a pipe opener Aragorn over a trip that is clearly too sharp these days,he will go to the Ryanair as a bit of an outsider now at 16/1,if he gets good ground be prepared to be shocked! The market showed somebody expected better! Market forces are always worth remembering for future reference! Admittedly to the eye it looked unimpressive, but it hasn"t put me off him one iota,i noted how impressive his jumping was today and he was too free early,in a bigger field over further in the Ryanair he will get a bit more cover and Choc will get him into a rhythm, when he is on song he will battle, even today he kept on! I am not concerned at all with todays performance surprisingly as i am convinced he is being laid out for Cheltenham!
February 13, 2010 at 22:21 #276412Which would be daft as he’s a far better horse at Aintree.

An Arkle and Champion Chase and a 2nd in the Ryanair Trumps 2 wins in the Martell Euro!
February 13, 2010 at 22:34 #276420It’s the level of form showed that counts not the trinkets. For me his Martell win and even his fourth in the Old Roan won by Knowhere was actually better than his Champion Chase. A race that from a form point of view was rendered worthless when Well Chief fell(a length or so beating of Dempsey possibly the worst winning performance of the race in the last decade at least)
He only won the Arkle because of the weight allowance 5yo’s got then.

Trinkets eh? Well we"ll see when he runs in this seasons Ryanair, given good ground he will make them all go! Now i have snaffled all the 16/1 i can virtually guarantee my place money!
Get your trinkets on Euro!February 14, 2010 at 15:20 #276603TAPK – Still all over Voy Por?!
