There’s far, far more to Fallon than "brute force.

Totally agree. He can also handle them very tenderly when the situation requires.

I still think that Fallon’s ride on Gift Horse in the Stewards Cup was one of the best rides I have ever seen.

I didn’t have a penny on, in fact, he chinned me on the line as I heavily punted the 2nd (I forget the name) – but I just remember counting my cash with 100 yards to go, until Fallon got off his horse and literally lifted it across the line

I think we can add Frankie to any "great" jockey list.

Too bloody right it was a painful day, so much so that I wanted to forget it as fast as I could, hence me forgetting the name initially.

Still, credit where credit is due, Fallon conjured something special out of Gift Horse that day – oh do I really have to relive it

Does everyone think Fallon is riding as well as ever since he came back?
I thought he looked decidedly ring rusty at first and still think he’s short of his best.

That’s a great arguement (for want of a better word) Yeats, because I would tend to agree with you.

I can’t think of horse names, but I have seen him ride some great races since he came back, but nowhere near as frequent as he normally does, and I have seen him have some poor rides – though none to raise the eyebrows regarding his integraty 8)

Do you think he could have lost a bit of passion for the sport – yes there are some good races in Ireland and France, but I think he craves the winners at places like Epsom, Goodwood, Ascot, Newmarket, York etc and at the moment he is being denied that chance. It’s a bit like a Premiership footballer being told to play in the Championship for a few seasons, when they know they are good enough to play at the top level – surely the adrenaline doesn’t pump as fast.

Have a look at his rides on Lucifer Sam at Galway and Frozen Fire at Gowran if you think he’s lost it.

I don’t think anyone’s suggested he’s lost it david. Is Frozen Fire the one where he made a meal of winning on clearly the best horse in the race?

I agree with tdk on the whoever is interviewing point. The interview that John McCririck did with Aidan O’Brien on ATR at Ascot this year was embarrassing.

ryan moore and jamie moore are firm favourites of mine, though not as highly thought of as the likes of keiran mccvoy and jamie spencer by most people i think considering they come from a smallish yard in the south they should be praised.. they are both great at what they do and seem to produce a fair bit of profit for me.
i used to pass over their mounts but as of recently both brothers have been riding and improving much of the time.

The recent interview between Ryan Moore and Lydia Hislop at Goodwood came over as exellent (at least on my television).

Clearly both knew a lot about the various horses they were discussing and Ryan gave her due respect with his answers to her questions.

With regards to the reticent nature of his father Gary it was not that long ago that a current jump jockey was giving away all the stable knowledge to a certain Jock Mc Crakken.

Writer Lynda La Plante removed a decent horse of hers from the Woodingdean yard a while ago as she was very upset that a gamble on her horse was known to the nation.
She clearly was upset her ‘Lovie mates’ had all missed the morning price and turned up at Epsom fuming and told Gary her horse would be moved the very next day!

Big Al had asked just one question in a telephone interview and that was ‘I understand ones of yours is being backed today and as a gambling yard is it your money? The simple reply was I dont know about that!
    Thats all it took.

Journalist Julian Wilson is of the view that any knowledge should be kept to those in the know and that they should ‘have the right’ to make use of any intended coup before the great unwashed have crawled out from under the duvet!

It seems there is a very fine line between giving good television interviews and keeping certain owners happy.

Can Ryan Moore do any wrong must be the best jockey around, that arm injury really robbed him of the jockeys title it no doubt would have been his.

I wanna thank Ryan Moore for riding Galeota yesterday and Hi Calypso today to victories and for making me a little bit richer! He is fantastic!
