Ride on Leocarno, come on you must do better than that, absolutely the most over rated jockey I have seen, admittidley im only 23 but that was pure terrible.

Stoute, get rid of Moore, bring back Fallon. Indeed even if you dont bring back Fallon there are 30 or maybe 40 jockeys out there more capable than Moore. Useless

I can’t comment on that ride but I would say Moore escapes criticism all too often. Other than from myself I can’t remember reading any critical posts on here at all.

Having said there are plenty of very average jockeys out there in decent jobs. Just watched another two dire performances from Adam Kirby – he is consistently poor and one of the reasons why Swinburn’s training career appears to be going nowhere.

Plenty of bad jockeys yes. But Moore is pathetic.

Jockey to avoid imo, maybe im being ignorant but to me Moore is a negative if riding your horse.

If I am going to have a bet on the horse who I think is best in the race and If Moore is riding, it tends to lead me not to back. Perhaps is is talented but just very very very stupid headwise. I fear he has a very low level of intelligense

He clearly is not intelligent. There are no worries on that front. He tried to criticise and take a shot at Matt Chapman on ATR after he came back from the Breeders Cup and rode Conduit for something Chapman never said.

    Intelligent after that ride?

Maybe I amirgnorant, but is the aim of horse riding

    1) To get your horse into trouble

    2) Then when it starts to really stride and look like a winner, steer it in behind horses and stop it in its stride?

If so Moore is a genius!!!!

Ah come lads he is muck

Sure Moore gets it wrong sometimes, but he is generally one of the best.

    In the case in question.
It is evident today that there is a golden highway up against the far rail at Newmarket. You might not have noticed it but Ryan has. Very few horses racing wide have done any good at all today. Leocorno pulled hard in most of her races this year. Moore had to settle her early. Once that had been done he found himself in rear, near the rail. He took a chance those in front would split, they didn’t. Then when he decided to go wide, something came back with him and was unable to switch.

Just did not happen for him, unlucky, not his fault in my opinion. Stupid? Well, I’d say he knows more about jockeyship than the average punter.

Think I did criticise him in last years Princess Of Wales. Conduit too in this years Eclipse, though in hind-sight he was up against it there and made no difference to the result.

Pocket-talking nonsense. He’s the champion jockey. He may not be the very best around but he’s in the top three without a shadow of doubt. You boys are having a laugh.

Call it pocket talking nonsense. He’s a lost of heck of a lot of races he should won this season.

Maybe pocket talking but i do honestly feel he is a very very poor rider. He always seems to find trouble.

Just an opinion though. I think this year he has lost more races he should of won rather than got a horse up with brilliant jockeyship…

It seems as if we are not allowed to comment on how poor we feel jockeys are, why not? In football they are slated all the time and rightfully so, if you play bad on a regular basis you are dropped and slated. I just wish Moore was dropped..

It is almost impossible for jockeys riding race after race, day after day NOT to find trouble at some point, particularly on hold up horses.

I think you are allowed to comment but always be prepared for the backlash from those on here who believe it is something of a sin ‘to be talking through your pocket’.

Ryan Moore has never filled me with confidence. This is a champion jockey that has never won a classic or a big race barring a few Group 1’s here and there.

The only time i remember him making a difference in really top race was when he was on notnowcato and he went to the far rail on the faster ground.

1 ride in the past 5 years at the top level is a shocking return for a man of his talent…..i not sure he has the bottle at the highest level.

He is a bit like Seb for me….totally inept when it comes to the big day.

Mind you he is very young jockey and is going to be a Great Jockey in time but at the moment i wouldn’t have him riding a horse i owned as there is 10 i think are better accomplished in the saddle.

Personally i think there are plenty of young Irish Jockey’s the boys across the water should be looking at.

Colm O Donoghue is a fantastic rider and is young aswell. I not sure he would like the cut and thrust of British Racing but would be a man of real unexposed quality.

Personally the best jockey riding in Ireland is Fran Berry…he is the complete package. I could see him as a Ballydoyle No.1 some day. He will get the John Oxx job in the next year or 2 and then that will launch him into the mainstream. Love the man to bits as he has had a fair amount of setbacks and bounced back so well.

Poor Stoutey need to get some precious 2yr olds….no runner in the Dewhurst this year again.

Criticise jockeys all you like, there are plenty who aren’t much cop. Ryan Moore isn’t one of them; just thought you were aiming at the wrong target.

Talking through your pocket isn’t a sin, but it’s very hard for others to take seriously. How can you be objective?
