I’m not a great one for fawning over jockeys or considering them the factor others do but that was a ride as good as I’ve ever seen

Agree Clive. I have criticised a few of Moores rides in the past.
However, he has been superb at Chester this week and his ride in the Cup was the best of the lot.
It was piggott like wasn’t it cork?
I think the key is that I can’t imagine any other jockey carrying that ride off with the total control and nerves of steel

Moore has been brilliant this week. I suspect he has made a few horses look even better than they are.
Moore has been pretty crap for a couple of seasons but he’s been absolutely sensational this week
The rides on changingoftheguard and cleveland in particular were both superb
I was told by a (now deceased) trainer many moons ago that jockeys can lose races but horses win them.
To be fair to Moore O’Brien didn’t have a vintage crop last year , while it’s easy to bemoan Moore’s piggotesq lack of communication it does mean he,s not putting noses out of joint with trainers/owners , looks like the team have spent the winter along sure they,ve ready to go straight from the off , saying they would have been disappointed with 1000 Guineas
