Back in front. have always thought he would excel when upped in distanmce and there are doubts about nearly everyuthing else
March 15, 2006 at 14:25 #69283surely there is a clue in the writing underneath.
March 15, 2006 at 14:48 #69284The Strangler strikes again.
March 15, 2006 at 14:49 #69285Bloody hell – the race didn’t exactly have ‘Gold Cup stars of the future’ written all over it…
March 15, 2006 at 20:57 #69286Yeah, today was not the best day for favourite backers – and not good for me also. He looked superb though, Star De Mohaison – annoying thing is that I had him picked out for a different race – think it may have been the Jewson. In typical R&SA Chase fashion, very few finished, and I am gutted about Our Ben falling – he’s going to be my bet for the GC next year. I really think he would have won it – although I haven’t actually seen the race yet properly – will watch it tonight. After the Apprentice.
March 15, 2006 at 21:36 #69287Our Ben would never, ever have won that race. He travels like a nightmare.
Commercial Flyer – ???.
Not an enjoyable race to watch.
Was it me, or did A Thornton nearly fall off the listener at either the first or second for no apparent reason??

No way of being so categorical whether Our Ben would have won or not; as a virtually guaranteed stayer, it’s not hard to envisage that he would have been battling on up the hill, much as he did last year. The only question is "Would he have still been within striking distance of the leaders?" at the second last.

Speaking as someone who backed him, I thought he ran a stinker and was well beaten before he fell.
He just didn’t travel at all.

Yes. He just wasn’t moving at all.
I wish I had had the presence of mind to lay the thing in running rather than just mentally ripping up my ticket.
