After Just Fine last year sold down under and ends up Gr1 winner after multiple wins , Clear Thinking bred by Royal Stud , unraced UK won 3rd on bounce today , out slow , out back , slow pace , blocked in and flew home , mowed em down . Aiming for big money sprint in October .
I dont know , they are keeping the buyers happy , but Clear Thinking looks v v good . The way she is going and the plodders in UK called sprinters maybe could have kept her .Looking at breeding , dam was topline sprinter in OZ . First few foals by Galileo , King Ginger in midweek by Kingman . Clear Thinking by Dubawi . Iam thinking maybe in hindsight , this filly could be worth some money on and off track . Breeder of dam brought her , that tells you something . At very least id be calling the decision maker in for a chat . Dams hasnt really been given much chance , they must have got her from OZ for a reason .
I was surprised when they sold Just Fine. Aside from being the first winner in the royal colours after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, he looked a good prospect.
Circle of Fire entered up in Melbourne this weekend , this time last year was trained out of Stoute yard for The King ,then sold , won last two inc Sydney Cup and 750 K in stakes , now favourite for Melbourne Cup.
But they kept Desert Hero who is looking average .The Kings horses have won in region of 650 K past two seasons , Circle of Fire won 618 K in one race .
Good buying these Royal horses , they sold Evaluation , he then won 4 on bounce and was placed in Northumberland Plate .My Kingdom of Fife, another a few years ago. Form tailed off badly off for Stoute, won his first 3 races in Australia, 150/1 first time out when the next biggest price in the race was 25/1. Ended up winning more than 600 grand.
The old Queen will be turning in her grave that there’s another one.
My Kingdom of Fife was a great buy for Waller , one first imports from Europe , he tapped into the market at all levels and the horses he brought over put him on map .MKOF done him a great turn.
It’s not as if they haven’t sent horses over Carlton House , Bold Sniper , Chalk Stream , CH didn’t win but picked up big place money , Bold Sniper beat himself by not settling more often than not but won two and more than paid his way . Chalk Stream won an Australia Day Cup and again paid his way . All three ran on big days .
Clear Thinking , Just Fine and Circle of Fire great for Royal Studs brand , big owners will be going through their drafts carefully .Clear Thinking just beat big field sprinters on Everest Day at Randwick , 2 million bucks stake , 1 million winners cheque . A very good sprinter , and now 6 from 8 in Australia . Probably the best sprinter Royal Studs have bred for many a year , not many GB suffixes in results down under over sprint trips and not on big tracks .
Travolta has won St Leger earlier , another GB bred import .
