    Can someone please explain to me how the following can happen without any skullduggery having taken place.

    The Stewards held an enquiry following a report from the Clerk of the Scales that Russ Kennemore, the rider of the winner PLATINUM, had weighed in at 8st 10lb having weighed out at 8st 8lb. They interviewed the rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales. Having heard their evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Rule (B)67.4.3 and suspended him for 3 days as follows: Friday 7 June, Saturday 8 June and Sunday 9 June 2013.

    Presumably he forgot part of his equipment when he weighed out.
