He reduces me to tears regularly.
June 28, 2022 at 22:02 #1604593Although a dedicated mute button fan, I do very occasionally wonder if I am just a miserable unfair git so once in a while I briefly turn up the volume to see if the passage of time has mellowed my opinion.
I find Rishi Persad very consistent – he’s just as annoyingly pointless now as he was 20 years ago.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 28, 2022 at 22:09 #1604595I was going to say that Wimbledon and then the Open Golf will keep him away from ITV/RTV for three weeks – but I suppose that would be unkind.
June 28, 2022 at 23:16 #1604611No doubt we will hear the same ‘how/what does it feel like after winning’ question to whatever tennis or golf player he is able to grab for an interview.
June 28, 2022 at 23:23 #1604613Somehow I doubt he will be allowed to say to Serena Williams “You played for over three hours and lost. How does it feel?”
June 28, 2022 at 23:30 #1604615He could be described as a bit touchy feely, unlike the late Julian Wilson.
June 29, 2022 at 09:58 #1604624He’s harmless, I think the problem is what he’s being told in his ear piece……it’s the same old questions.
He was the post race interview that got the McCoy retirement news, for once he was momentarily speechless….

Presenters are often told what to say and ask.Value Is EverythingJune 30, 2022 at 11:38 #1604720In fairness he managed to boost John Isner’s personality rating from sub zero to around 1.5.
June 30, 2022 at 17:31 #1604768Some of ‘his mates’ do it anyway…
Oli Bell – “How Does It Feel?”
Sally Anm Grassick – “How Does It Feel?”
Ed Chamberlin – “Describe The Feeling.”June 30, 2022 at 20:07 #1604784You would think the great man would make an effort to look smart at Wimbledon. What was that dark trousers and white shoes look all about?
June 30, 2022 at 20:20 #1604785Every year, I only get interested in Wimbledon at Championship Point in the Ladies and Mens Singles Finals, so I’m still over a week away from switching on the telly – muted, obviously.
It’s distinctly possible I don’t get full value out of my TV licence fee, but at least I’m saving on electricity.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 2, 2022 at 21:28 #1605097The woman who interviewed Kyrigios after his match asked questions which made Persad look like a forensic interviewer in the style of a Robin Day or Brian Walden.
July 2, 2022 at 21:30 #1605098The product of dumbing down, or a Weakened World.
July 2, 2022 at 21:56 #1605099Seeing as many years ago, BBC News started having items like: “What is inflation and why is it a bad thing?” we can safely assume it’s dumbing down FOR a weakened world, so right on both counts.
I never thought I would resent paying the licence fee – after all, I was proud to work for the BBC occasionally – but I do.
I watch ITV Racing on mute and that’s about it – why should I be paying the BBC to do this?

Woeful wasn’t it? Likewise much of the match commentaries. Hours of largely unnecessary and irrelevant gibberish managing to avoid imparting useful information, such as who the winner faces in the next round or, indeed, who the commentators are and why the BBC imagines their cosy chats with each other might be of interest. A few exceptions such as McEnroe who usually has something worthwhile to say. I wish there was a “red button” option to turn it off and just have the on-court sound.
