Young Ricky is at it again tonight on Sky Sports he has trained well for the fight though it has to be said. His opponent is the well known vince ehm? vincent price?, no! ehm? vince lombardi,? no!, lets just call im BIG VINCE that sounds good innit.
Yep the Hitman may just scrape through this genuine match but its touch & go, vince might even reach the 3rd round god forbid, you have to laugh at barry mcguigall on the sky sports trailer for this fight yes Ricky HIMSELF is one of the best fighters ever to come out of the British Isles no less his devastatin body punches renders genuine world class fighters useless, question, has he ever faced a genuine world class fighter as yet?,answer a resounding NO! enjoy your night Ricky once the gravy train ends real boxing punters will not only name the fight off your downfall but probably name the round as well.
p.s. Nothing against you young mr hatton but dont like overrated boxers as a rule, respect has to earned in this game, enjoy your night though & your time while it lasts.
p.p.s learn your trade son your wide open to a class fighter.

April 5, 2003 at 19:45 #88653Witter is no match for hatton in my view, but they both lack a measure of class in the top grade however.

April 6, 2003 at 06:50 #88663Jim , that one man effort of a thread is the biggest pile of nonsense I have ever seen on this forum bar none , and there have been one or two pearlers along the way .
I can only assume by the amount of edits and spelling mistakes that you were totally rat-arsed watching the fight .That must be the reason for the in fight commentary twaddle.

April 8, 2003 at 14:34 #88665You have to give Hatton some credit Jim, sure’ly?
Hatton can definate’ly beat some of the top ten guys, but there are a few out there i believe with the skills to exploit his rotten defence. I would take Gatti, Tyszu & Judah to all do that, i also think Mickey Ward would out muscle him, but he retires after his next fight with Gatti anyway so thats not going to happen.
Hatton does have a good chance against any of the above, there is no doubt about that. He may lack one punch KO power, but his superhuman workrate far makes up for that. Hatton is pure entertainment, he is exactly what most fight fans want to see, at least every now and again. I would love to see him lift a world title, and it looks like he may just do that very soon. It is looking like the WBC will strip Tyszu of his belt for not facing his mandatory challenger Branco, Hatton is rated #2 by the WBC so that would leave him and Branco to fight for the vacant title. I have yet to see Branco fight, but from what i hear Hatton would take care of him.
Hatton was beggining to look like a bit of a comfort zone fighter, but the ambition is definate’ly there, he wants it and wants it bad. He is desperate to prove himself and Warren will not be able to hold him back much longer. The light-welter division is probably the most talented division in boxing today, Hatton really has his work cut out and i do not see him ruling this division, but he is definate’ly a major force in it and will be no easy task for any of the top ten guys.
Vince Phillips was old, but he has proved he can still mix it, he went the distance with Sharmba Mitchell in his last fight, only loosing on a split decision. Mitchell is highly rated and Hatton made an easier job of it than he did. Mitchell v Hatton could happen after Hatton v Branco if Hatton gets that fight. I seee him winning that. I would also take Hatton to beat the likes of Ben Tackie, i would give Hatton a chance of beating any of the top ten guys in fact. I think Gatti and Judah pose a bigger danger to Hatton than Tyszu does. Tyszu is a class act, but styles make fights and i think Hatton would fare better against him than he would against the likes of the hard punching warior Artouro Gatti. ÂÂÂ
Junoir Witter, who the **** is he! As Hatton says, he is a boil on his arse. He has made his name on the back of Hattons success, he has fought nobody of any note, apart from Zab Judah, and anyone who seen that fight will no that Junior Witter is a little shi*ter. He ran all night from Judah, he stank the joint out and showtime swore never to show another of his fights again. But with Hatton v Witter going to be huge in the UK they decided to show him on Saturday night. Now Hatton v Witter is looking unlike’ly, with Hattons bad cut and the possibility of him getting a shot at the vacant WBC title. I was never keen on this fight anyway, Witter will do nothing for Hatton’s reputation or world rating. Witter needs Hatton though, but i hope he does not get him.
It looks like he may face Demarcus Corley, the WBO champ. If he wins that fight, and Hatton wins the WBC belt, it would make their match up even bigger over here, at least then Witter would have earned the right to fight Hatton.
