Can some one help? Until recently I’ve been a bit out of touch with flat racing for some years so I may be mistaken but isn’t Richard Hughes riding for Mark Johnston an unusual booking?
Does anyone have statistics, wins to ride ratio etc?

Richard Hughes has ridden for Mark Johnston once in the last five seasons, without success.

Thanks…I think I’ve have a little EW tonight

August 2, 2010 at 12:45 #310570As stated, Hughes is 0-1 for Johnston in the last 5 seasons.
Before that he was used more often, including on the likes of Yavana’s Pace, but that was 10 years ago.
Tattler will have to improve significantly for the step up in trip (extra 2 furlongs) compared to last of 11 over a mile in a Nottingham maiden in June.
Market will guide as same owner and trainer combination have the apparently more fancied Fox Hunt, ridden by the more frequently used Greg Fairley in the same race.
Hughes and Hannon may be red hot and he rides Windsor well, but he can’t win on everything!

Even though, to me it’s worth a small ew bet
August 2, 2010 at 18:05 #310615This indeed may be worth an interest as both animals are in the same ownership but Hughes mount is in the first string colours.
Good luck guysAugust 2, 2010 at 18:29 #310619CS wrote…Horse is Tattler, 7.50 Windsor
Race time is 7.40 but forget Tattler. Instead, pack your suitcase, put on your shades, pick up a deckchair and get down to PEBBLE BEACH. At 14/1 don’t just dip your toes in, immerse yourself in loadsamoney. I heard about this one from one of Matthew’s reliable sources.
Post Script: Moight have guessed…within seconds out to 22/1. Oh bookies, have more faith in my tips please.

That one’s been nagging at me all day, cover bet placed!
August 2, 2010 at 18:48 #310624Well done, Lingfield….you are the man!

Good spot Lingfield, the late betting told the storyAugust 4, 2010 at 07:04 #310846Looks like Tattler was only running on Monday to put him in the shop window – he’s due to be sold at Doncaster later today

August 4, 2010 at 10:01 #310872Just changed hands for £2,000. Looks remarkably cheap given how well he travelled at Windsor, but indicative of how the market for ordinary horses has collapsed.

August 4, 2010 at 11:30 #310880It certainly seems to be a buyers market at the moment. I wonder whether trainers will also offer incentives to owners to keep horses in training with them or just let their strings shrink to keep costs down.
