Seriously why are they playing 5 minutes trails including a ridiculous trailer for a so called “comedy” with Tim Winstanley about Yorkshire? You are not ATR, you are not Weaver & Harvey so RUK stop trying to be.
ATR struggles to fit it’s ads in each hour so why are RUK now diluting the racing coverage to do promotions?
Just show the racing ffs you are a commercial free station there is no need for all this nonsense addition.
I think Racing UK suffered this afternoon with so much action. Why they have Dave Nevison in the studio when he doesn’t have time to speak for hours on end is beyond me. The number of meetings is not RUK’s fault I realise that but darting from one race to the next is overkill.
Tonight’s coverage has seemed very much like going through the motions but again it’s hard to knock RUK for that when after a long day they have to cover two pretty mediocre meetings.
Next Friday all 6 meetings are on ruk and then another day there’s nothing!
Good, I enjoy the racing more when it’s all on the one channel, could do without Hannity & Nevison in the studio though.
Although the fixture list is a pigs ear anyway, don’t think which channel meetings are on should be a factor when deciding it. Many believe British racing only merits one specialist channel anyway and I would concur with that.
Regarding Carry on Yorkshire featuring Shinners & Stanley, think these people are on a different planet to the rest of us.
Just show the racing, cut back on all the free loaders like Nevison and cut the subscription money. I’d guess most people don’t want anything but the pictures of the racing so why try the personalities rubbish like ATR ?

It would be soooooooooooo boring if they did away with everything but the pictures of horses.
Next Saturday all afternoon Cartmel is due to go off just 5mins after Market Rasen!….what joker planned that???

Don’t like American racing much but the coverage of it on ATR last night was miles better when the presenters went home at 11.00pm.
Just went from track to track on the live feed, race to race without constant interruptions from presenters waffling rubbish. Horses shown in the paddock and going to post without interruptions from pundits.
I would love to see that type of coverage here, you don’t need all these presenters and pundits who know less than you, to watch and enjoy racing.

The more “fillers” they have the less time the so called experts have to spend actually talking about the horses before a race. I agree, the so called “comedy” is cringeworthy. I have always said if I want to watch comedy I tune into a comedy channel. I expect serious punditry on sports channels.

I can’t comment on the ruk format, but I agree with Yeats on the american racing program. The later broadcast is just what I want to see and hear in a racing show. It is horseracing and horsearacing alone. No dopey rubbish.
I realise the majority of horse racing fans detest everything about usa racing, but I love it, and have since it was covered towards the end of the racing channel days. Betting against blokes who are half cut, just back from a night out with no idea of what is running, other than a list of prices on betfair is a huge bonus.
If there any other usa lifers out there that remember Great Lakes Downs, I bet you miss it as much as I do.
