Why have Racing TV added today a large ever changing caption on screen showing the jockeys silks colours?
At least Sky TV who introduced this annoyance made it a bit more subtle and offer a percentage chance of winning even though it’s often slow to update and serves me no purpose.
Why do we need all this pointless junk on screen? If you subscribe to Racing TV you probably know who is who (unless it’s foggy!).
Not all of us have 50 inch screens!
December 11, 2025 at 13:32 #1747231Agree, it is very intrusive. That makes four captions on the screen now: the meeting name and time; the clock; the speedometer; and now the running order. The latter two seem unnecessary.
December 11, 2025 at 13:47 #1747233Is the MPH clock correct?
Everyone said Gaelic Warrior ran away in the John Durkan but the clock looked steady enough to meCharles Darwin to conquer the World
December 13, 2025 at 16:37 #1747504Why doesn’t one of the presenters tell their viewers what’s the point of the jockeys silks being shown on screen during the race? They are just an unnecessary distraction. The speedometer and clock are also pointless. The only time the clock can be of any use is when the race has finished as you don’t know far they have gone during the race to evaluate the time during it.
I used to enjoy watching racing but can take or leave it now on the satellite channels with all this junk on screen and the IQ Data rubbish rammed down us.
