As of this morning – main change seems to be the (useful) separation of "Cards" from "Results". Other desirables (such as auto-complete in search boxes) have still not been implemented. Better, but not a bull’s eye.
May 19, 2009 at 12:34 #228649Excellent job done! Result finding was becoming difficult!
May 19, 2009 at 12:44 #228651Still no link to the At A Glance Results on the home page
May 19, 2009 at 12:52 #228652………and the’ days since last run’ has seemed to have found a strange home!
I thought that there was a 117 -y-o bay filly running today, for a while.

Just click on "results" from home page & all the quick results are there with options to see full results
May 19, 2009 at 13:41 #228663Thanks David, never saw it
May 19, 2009 at 15:12 #228678Close but not cigar.
If they’re to make it subscription based, which at this rate will happen in 2012, they have to make it more optional in areas. Noting system was handy on the last site and still haven’t sufficiently replaced that either.
Like the look of the results now and finally added the course trainer and jockey stats back to full which is good

What on Earth have they done with trainer quotes?
This most useful part of a horse’s past form seems to have all but disappeared since the recent changeover, so much so that they’d have us believe that such as Paul Nicholls has never said anything instructive about Kauto Star, for instance.
Typically for this shower, it looks like one step forward and two steps back – again!
May 21, 2009 at 12:20 #229164Yeah a distinct lack of trainer quotes is true. Also, they’d have you believe that horse racing has only existed for 1 season given that the form figures now appear in a huge line with no gaps, slashes or dashes…
Look at what they’ve done to Moscow Flyer, for example;

May 21, 2009 at 22:50 #229291Alongside the apparent lack of quotes, the ‘full’ meeting information that contained details of dolling off / rail movement also now seems to be missing.
How much market research is undertaken before these ‘improvements’ are made?
May 22, 2009 at 00:03 #229321I haven’t kept up with all discussions on this in the last few months. Does anyone know if the news archive from before 2006 will ever be restored? I hope no one’s pressed the Del button.
May 22, 2009 at 01:25 #229353After about 4 e-mails, the Racing Post finally understand what the issue is with the form figures. Look at this guff they gave me earlier today;
We have checked several horses’ from figures within the main database and are unable to see the problem you are referring to regarding the figures not displaying correctly.
The dash after Kauto Star is meant to be there because he has not had a run yet this season (2009/10). Moscow Flyer is retired and has not run since the end of the 2007 season; the / in a horse’s form indicates that a horse has been off the the track for over a year.
We you find this information useful.
We do understand your issue regarding the lifetime form of horse which is situated at the Race record section of the individual horse data page. Having checked a number of examples this seems to be the case across the board. The information is available when scrolling down the form of a horse as the date and year are situated down the left hand side of the page but obviously this is not ideal and can take more time separating each year.
Not only useless but patronising little buggers as well!

Though the trainer quotes have now been partially restored, they now seem to have lost the standard times and comparisons for Irish and French race results.
Unbelievable!
May 24, 2009 at 14:15 #229813Appearances in British point-to-points have been reinstated in the form lines at last, but for which the page for the fourth at Cartmel tomorrow would have looked very bare indeed.
Another crack at incorporating British pointing form into individual horses’ database entries (as they currently do with the Irish equivalent) is patiently awaited.

May 25, 2009 at 20:30 #230072I wonder when they plan to start charging people to access it?
I was on it at the weekend and it’s pretty useless, they haven’t even bothered answering my emails about un-nerfing the search criteria.
Has anyone ever tried to lift a .pdf into excel or access? Can it be done?
