The Turftrax info couldnt be made public, in light of the current state of affairs with course officials running races over the incorrect distances and ridiculous assertions of what the going is likely to be etc. I assume thats what you mean by track variant EW .. idiots in triblies.
April 1, 2007 at 19:10 #50053I’m probably spending too much time reading US material Dave
track variants is US jargon for the going allowance, the accuracy of speedfigures relies on this measurement, this measurement relies on accurate race times and race distances and as you point out some of these are not as they should be for various reasons
Any measurement, is therefore an estimated going allownce/track variant and no more
Need to expand, Standard times will be compiled from these going allowances, ie: collecting all data where good is given and producing a median/standard
You are therefore taking the middle numbers of a load of estimated data to base your going description on, so therefore another estimate

June 19, 2007 at 07:39 #50055Thanks for all the help with the question about where to obtain Racetimes as quickly as possible in order to calculate the Going. The best answer was the Sporting Life website. The worst – Buy a stopwatch!
CONCLUSIONS = RUK + RUK text
Finally, in answer to the person who tried to remind me about Wind, Rain and the changing position of Running Rails: I would say look up Occam`s Razor on Google and read and digest it`s message.
CAN`T GO WITHOUT A POINTER FOR YOU SADDLEBAGS OUT THERE: PIVOTAL POINT 15/1 A PLACE 1,2,3 ON BETFAIR IN THE 3.05 @ ROYAL ASCOT. If that`s not value then I don`t know what is !
