I must admit Darlan was a horse I put a lot of questions marks next to in the run up to last seasons’ festival, before he was eventually touched off in the Supreme by Cinders And Ashes and consequently won well at Aintree. He looked good in these two runs and was absolutely tanking before taking a bad fall in the Betfair Hurdle earlier on at Newbury.

He’s definitely a horse who should be there or thereabouts in March, and given this races’ record of catapulting good horses into the Champion Hurdle picture, he should be well capable of winning this off top weight. Bet365 go a standout 6/1, and supposing he has an incident-free run up to the race, I’d have to say this represents decent value 8)

Agreed Boz, Darlan really does stand out to me and I can see him being much shorter on the day, especially considering competition looks a little weak from a quick scan.

Does anyone know if he is definitely an intended runner?

Reading a piece in the Racing Post today, Henderson seems to insinuate that that’s where he’s sending him first up, although skipping it for the Christmas Hurdle is another option. My guess is that he’ll line up and take advantage of his current mark but I wouldn’t go big ante-post just yet.

If Raya Star runs Darlan wouldn’t even be running off top weight now. One word – nailed

I like DOMINATION at 10/1 won well at Newmarket will be staying on well at the end. and trainer to be noted when bringing horses over from Ireland.

    Does anyone know if

    Glam Gerry

runs? Won well on the flat last time out and looks the sort to win a big handicap somewhere this season, perhaps over fences however.
