Colin, thanks for the welcome. Yes, you do right to be cynical as that was my first post here.
But, no, I have no connection with Horse Talk at all other than that I will no doubt end up subscribing.
Of course, if I were the publisher then you’d expect me to say that, wouldn’t you?
Best wishes
– Malc

September 15, 2006 at 18:12 #76365I used to subscribe to Inside Edge until 2/3 months ago when they changed the content to 80% Poker….yawwwwn.

Or maybe the game has beaten them and they believe it wasn’t their fault and there’s nothing to be learned.
Anyone with a winning system would be best advised to keep it under their hat as such betting is particularly sensitive to over exposure. ‘Quick returners’, ‘follow the Cheltenham Bumper/Wood Ditton runners’ spring to mind as such exposed now non-profitable systems. Though of course there is cyclicity to consider as once a system is abandoned as over-exposed it could well become profitable again for the minority prepared to stick with it.
September 17, 2006 at 12:25 #76367I take your point, Drone, but posters needn’t give exact details of the methods they use.
General ideas and points for discussion are all that are required. I’m sure most of us are keen to look at this game through different perspectives, and in return we can offer our own ideas for comment.
September 17, 2006 at 14:13 #76368It appears to me that the market for digital magazines. and publications is quite buoyant. I subscribe to Zinio and have subscribed to PressDisplay. It’s a pity that more racing publications don’t take advantage of the digital format for increased sales.

I’ve had Racing Ahead a couple of times and enjoyed it but availability is a major factor in me not getting more issues.
Pacemaker and Thoroughbred Owner and Breeder are two very good magazines but both are slanted towards the breeding side which will prove interesting for some but not for others.
September 17, 2006 at 20:42 #76370Malc, are you the chap won runs a systems/analysis site? I’m not gonna name it otherwise i’ll get told off! Could be way off the mark as well!

Malc, didn’t you mean to say "execrable"?
September 17, 2006 at 22:50 #76372Gus, perhaps yes and also perhaps as excrable as my spelling at times.
Aragorn, yes. But that’s neither here nor there as I am here wearing another hat. And whilst on here I will be wearing this hat and not t’other.
