I received a flyer for Raceform Interactive yesterday – £72 per month – seems a tad pricey to me but would any users recommend it? £99 to the end of the jumps season seems not a bad deal whatwith the festivals coming up.
Are there less expensive products out there that can do the same sort of analysis and database query?
Or do people find that RI leads to information overload?
Thanks in advance for assistance.
February 20, 2011 at 17:24 #341481I took RI for a few years but have ditched it this year after finding a site called horseracebase.com. The latter does much the same in the line of tracking horses, you can also track systems and build systems just as well as on RI. The clincher? You only need to pay a minimum of €7.50 per month. The developer Chris Bagnall posts on here and gives very good backup.

I’ve been thinking about this for sometime. I’ve been a subscriber to Raceform Interactive for a couple of years now but I’m just not convinced about the ‘value’ of it.
Given the amount you pay a month you would imagine that the database would be user-friendly, reliable and ‘exciting.’ Unfortunately it’s not any of those things.
I might try CHill’s tip and have a look at that site.
February 20, 2011 at 22:17 #341516Cheers for that Carvillshill – could be just what I am looking for.
What your thoughts on the likes of the RP/ATR sites? I find them fine enough for general formbook analysis but that’s about it really – they just don’t have the capacity for analysis and query – they are free in the main though!
February 21, 2011 at 10:29 #341550I’ve been a subscriber to RI for the best part of a decade. Whilst I continue to enjoy it, these days I find it more of an increasingly expensive indulgence that appeals more to the anorak in me than any great tool in winner finding.

Personally I use the RP site exclusively for looking at races- it’s just what I’m used to. I keep all my notes on horses there now and if there’s a horse I particularly want to follow I use horseracebase- they send you a daily email now with any of your horses or system qualifiers which are running.February 21, 2011 at 22:47 #341644carvillshill,
After 8 hours in an office staring at a screen for most of that time I find the RP/ATR sites hard work. I also seem to flick from one race to another without really concluding my analysis. With the volume of racing nowadays my time is also diluted.
To improve my study I’m going to begin buying the Weekender again to highlight my favoured races / catch up with events. I’ve also procured a large notebook where I’ll scroll down my notes etc. Thereafter I’ll use RP/Horseracebase/Trends books to analyse in greater detail.
I think that approach will work better for me. Thks, you’ve helped bring some clarity!!
February 22, 2011 at 11:42 #341690I use RI and like it as a convenient way of reading form,i was wondering if any members use the Timeform version and thier views on same.
Timeform make it difficult to try the product for a trial period.
