5.20 Worcester 2m 4f
5.25 Chepstow 5f
5.40 Uttoxeter 2mAnyone with even 1 braincell can see that Worcester will clash with Chepstow so why in all that’s holy have they put a 5f sprint at 5.25 and not 5.30??
Who are the idiots who decide these things?
May 14, 2014 at 18:52 #479045Given Chepstow’s historically apalling record at getting races off to time, no doubt they thought they would get away with it.

Judging by the race times it looks like they did.
To be fair communication between courses has improved somewhat (although it couldn’t have got much worse) and races are regularly held back until the previous timed race has finished. This doesn’t always happen and I agree that 2m 4f+ races are unlikely to finish within 5 minutes and have no chance on soft or heavy going.
So why weren’t the final two hurdle races at Worcester swapped? A 2m hurdle race would have been feasible assuming no more than a minute late off.
What really winds me up is the ATR directors who switch to a split screen when the runners are still circling at the start, it can’t be that difficult to wait until the race has actually started.
....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.
