Query for Admin – new thread notifications

Since the end of last week, I’ve received an email notification each time a new thread has been started in the main racing section.

The only thread I am subscribed to receive notifications on is the retirements thread, and I’ve checked I haven’t accidentally subscribed to anything else.

Just wondering if any site settings have changed, or if anyone else is experiencing this?

This is a strange one. You are correct, you are only subscribed to retirements. I’ll need a bit of time on this one Marlingford, sorry for any inconvenience it is causing.

No big rush to look at it as far as I’m concerned, though I don’t really want the extra emails, so thought it worth mentioning

After doing some more detective work, it appears each section has a link saying “subscribe” or “unsubscribe” in the top right-hand corner.

Although my profile was not saying I was subscribed to the racing section, the link at the top of this section said “unsubscribe”, implying that I was subscribed. I’ve now clicked on it and it is saying “subscribe”, so perhaps that will stop the notifications.

Perhaps I clicked on this link inadvertently at some point, though it’s odd it wasn’t showing on my profile. Anyway, I will let you know if any more emails appear.

Ok – I can’t see anything else to explain it so hopefully that is it – let me know hw it goes.

Thanks David – that has done the trick. A few new threads have been started since my last post, but no email notifications have come through.
