Oddschecker are still quoting Fairyland and Just Wonderful but both of them are OUT of the race,as I suggested they would be some time ago.

I felt Shades Of Blue was sound each-way at 8/1 and she would have been a confident selection but for the record of Wesley Ward fillies in the race.

So Perfect is bad value at 5/1 for O’Brien. She scrambled home in a maiden at this trip and failed to shine at 6F behind Servalan last time and that filly re-opposes, even though she is not in the betting on useless Oddschecker. 10/1 is the odds on Servalan and at double the odds of So Perfect, is a clear pick over the filly who was stuffed at short odds last time.

    My picks are:-

    1. Chelsea Cloisters
    2. Shades Of Blue
    3. Servalan

Lay So Perfect to a place at Evens.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

As everyone knows, I’m well in on Chelsea Cloisters here at 5/1. She’s my biggest bet of the week.

But I’ve had half a saver at 6/1 today on shades of blue. The latter has that excellent form from that previous Ascot race so I’ve thrown a few quid her way.

There’s no doubt it was a taking win by Shades of Blue and she looks very decent indeed. However she now sits at 9/2 best price according to the RP site, with Come On Leicester sitting at 16/1. COL didn’t have any cover on her debut, and SOB had some lovely cover for most of the race behind COL, before sprinting away at the end. For me, considering connections i would be happy to consider the form being reversed. Hannon jnr doesn’t have them as ready as his snr and she looked pretty decent at Windsor. That Windsor race has been targeted by Hannon before with Out of the Flames (3rd last year in this) winning it last year, and on RPRs nowhere near as impressive as COL.

There’s no doubt on the debut, COL has something to find with SOB, but, for me Cox has his debutants more ready to win FTO than Hannon…and at the prices COL is very attractive.

Chelsea Cloisters is obviously another matter…perhaps i will do a W/O CC bet as well.

    From my preview:
    ‘2:30 – Queen Mary (Group 2)
Day two kicks off with a bang for me as my biggest bet of the week goes in the race for two year old fillies. CHELSEA CLOISTERS (NAP @ 11/4) goes for Wesley Ward and America as the trainer hunts for his third win in four years in the race. The comments about her being as ‘good as any Queen Mary filly we’ve brought over’ is both eye-opening and extraordinary. Ward’s two recent winners in this were both top class and in leagues of their own. If Chelsea Cloisters is as good as those two, it will take a good one to beat her. The use of Lasix on American juveniles is rumoured to be why they develop quicker than European youngsters but it is legal and should be used to our betting advantage. Her debut win looked very impressive on the eye and Ward will have her laid out for this race. . I am on at 5/1 and am very hopeful of a big performance. Shades Of Blue is likely the biggest danger as she’s beaten several of these over course and distance with a blistering turn of foot and could be smart. So Perfect represents a top yard but has to overturn form with Servalan which isn’t a given. The unknown filly that has come into the race completely under the radar is the unbeaten Forever In Dreams. She has been brought over from France for this which would’ve been because connections have confidence that she could pick up some prize money. She’s an interesting contender in a lively opener for day two.’

Chelsea Cloisters never turned up at all. Very odd that a 4 and a half furlong winner never showed up at all. Different if she set off and faded but she looked like she needed a mile today

I thought Shades Of Blue was a good each-way when she was 8/1 and I thought she might win it but not quite although a sound effort from her.

Jessica Harrington has made a balls up with Servalan. I said before that the Albany should have been her race and it was a schoolgirl error to drop from 6F. So Perfect was able to reverse form with Servalan over the shorter trip and Jessica Harrington will be kicking her own ass for coming to the Queen Mary. Basic error there.

I didn’t get the time to mention the fact that Chelsea Cloisters had first time blinkers on today. I was asking myself why on earth she would need them on? Whatever the thinking was, it didn’t have the desired effect as she was slowly away from the stalls and showed no pace. Huge disappointment for a filly selected from what looked a strong team of Ward fillies this year. Doesn’t inspire confidence for Ward this week but I still feel Shang Shang Shang has a huge chance in the Norfolk.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
