Given it’s going to be a cloudy morning, I’d predict it will now be Good, not Good to Firm, on the straight course by the Queen Anne and drying out all day with sunny intervals predicted thereafter.

Ideally for Modern Games, it wouldn’t have rained as he likes it fast more than any of them, but I don’t think it will stop him.

    Midday update…

Straight course – average reading 7.3
    Round course – reading 6.5

The going is now described as good on the straight course (from good to firm) and good, good to soft in places (from good, good to firm in places) on the round track.

I’ve sided with Modern Games like I did Lockinge.

I’ll join Jac with Native Trail, hoping he has come on a lot for reappearance.

I think the standard time for this is 1m 38.9s – unless they crawl early on, the clock should tell us something about the ground on the straight course.

How did he win? He ran off his face in the early stages.

OMG my daughter backed Triple Time with PP freebet and I nearly put her off it. B-) Well done Louise.💫💫💫
What a turn up..great run by Inspiral but TT had it in the bag.
Modern Games and Native Trail again disappointing run by Godolphin horses.
Well done anyone who picked that one. :good:

One for the North – maybe it’s not quite so grim up there after all.

“If there’s one that won’t be winning it’ll be that thing in yellow, pulling the jockey’s arms out,” I’d imagine more than after few said after the first two furlongs.

Time was 1.8 seconds slow – I’d call it Good ground on the straight course.

I always back horses that have been off the track for a long time but my daughter came round just before the race and I missed it!

Not a great amount of pace and Inspiral has done well to come from off the pace – winner done equally as well considering he must have used up a good amount of energy early on and I didn’t realise he was forced to miss the Lockinge with an issue on the morning of the race.

Will be interesting to see what they do with him as I wouldn’t be shocked if they went up to 10F with him (a lot of 10-12F winners in the family) so something like the Juddmonte at York would be an obvious target given Ryan does so well at York.

Two lightly raced four year olds I went for Cash because it had run this season, that’s life.

The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.

I think the winner is decent – pulled hard, but still won, lightly-raced, progressive, what’s not to like?

Not sure I’d fancy Inspiral to ever beat him tbh.
