20:20 Linfield – REGAL ROYALE
July 19, 2008 at 18:26 #173830The QUADRILLA – 4 bets.
Win and place lay a favourite. Same race win and place another runners.
A good example is NBY 17:00 today.
Kasbam – Lay win at 2.44. Lay place at 1.53.
Callisto Moon – Back win at 15.0. Back place at 4.5.No other rules.
Selections to follow in due course.
Backing two runners is the relentless pursuit of value. Backing each way is a shortcut to the poor house. Only 7% make a long term profit.
July 23, 2008 at 14:01 #174404MAIN AIM running in the 19:40 at SAN is interesting.

The odds-on favourite in a 7 runner – so only 2 places. Big name Trainer and Jockey will keep the price down – so let’s look at opposing.
MA has had 2 runs. Both won by short distances, both at slow times, the first time being 2 seconds faster than the second – so won with a bit in hand, but the winning distance suggests a very clever ride ( to keep the handicap down ) or MA distance is 6F.
MA is the second slowest runner in the race ( at this distance ), there’s no improvement in speed and he’s up against runners who have ALL raced at a higher class.
You could lay MA and back all the others for a profit. At the odds, my pick is ZAKHAAREF.
MAIN AIM – Lay win and lay place.
ZAKHAAREF – Win and place.Good luck.

August 4, 2008 at 15:26 #176056MANDALAY KING (IRE) running in the 20:45 at CRL is interesting.

God knows what the distance will be – distance shortened from 5f 193yds on race day due to false patch of ground ! So this is possibly not a condender.

MK’s last 5 sparkling runs have been on ground faster than good – don’t listen to the official going reports. I think that the ground today will be G/S at best and possibly Soft.
MK down in Class, is UP in weight. The going and the weight will make a win and a place unlikely.
KYLLIS needs closer investigation. Last 4 runs at 6F and 7F have been progressivly slower. Drop back in distance and a return to the A/W form should be enough to go close. To be honest, anyone could win this – the Jockey has influenced the decision.
MANDALAY KING (IRE) – Lay win and lay place.
KYLLIS – Win and place.Good luck.
