“no outstanding novices tto really look forward to next year.”
King Rasko Grey over fences?
May 3, 2026 at 08:26 #1765807Befair makes a very fair point . We are used to the Mullins conveyor belt producing next year’s champions and we didn’t really see that. Kopek des B is very good but will his jumping make him Majborough mark II ? King Rasko Grey is a dual festival winner but was all out to hold off Lord Byron who couldn’t lay a glove on Bossman Jack at Aintree, so I think the latter will be the chaser to follow.

He’ll be no match for Old Park Star imo.
I think Narcisco Has could be quite exciting if he’s back next season.

I don’t believe we saw the same King Rasko Grey at Punchestown as we did at Cheltenham.
We’ve seen horses beaten at Punchestown after winning at Cheltenham over the years, happened this year with Wodhooh. At least KRG managed to win.

I’m more inclined to think King Rasko Grey going RSA route rather than go 2 miles in the Arkle against Old Park Star.
