I used to really like Punchestown but the Grade 1s today are pretty depressing.

Novice hurdle WPM has 3/5 runners and the first three in the betting.

Champion Chase WPM has 4/6 runners and the first three in the betting.

Novice chase WPM has 4/6 runners and only the HDB horse stopping him dominating the betting there as well.

To be honest I couldn’t be less enthused.

I’ve bet Saylavee in the opener at 8/1, and I’ve got two running for me in the 1650 with Hey Johnny at 33/1 ew, and Cash Back 20/1

I thought that Blue Lord was worth a bet at 11/1, though I expect Energumene to confirm his superiority over this field

I’ve also went with Appreciate It at 4/1

Just the 2 bets, so far, for me

Tax For Max in the 4.50 and i’ve also taken a chance with James Du Berlais in the 6.35.

Best of luck to all :good:

Diverge was 10/11 without Fascile Vega, that was good enough for me with his maiden hurdle victory a wide margin canter at the track.

I like The Model Kingdom in the first, she didn’t land any sort of blow at Cheltenham but just seems a different animal at this track, took her at 6’s

In the Grade B hurdle, once again I’ve gone Punchestown form with last years 3rd Tax For Max. Only a couple of pounds higher this time around,a bit more experience, hopefully can go well at 9/1.

All prices based on last night no idea what they are now as have been busy.
    Have fun.

Chivers I’m joining you with The Model Kingdom and Diverge, and I’m expecting big runs

In the 1650 it’s Telecon 11-1 and Watch The Weather at 33-1

Betting both Sir Gerhard and Appreciate It at these odds isnt a regular approach for me but that’s what I’m doing on this occasion

In the 1800 I’ve landed on two both at 18-1. Brave Fortune and Western Gold

Some nice horses out today, and the rest of the week, so a winner or two would be good

As usual I’ll be frittering away money just for the sake of having end of term bets

3.40 The mares’ novice hurdle division is a bit of a mess this year. I’ll try Henning,l ew 4pl, I have taken to following the family and, although the track/trip might be a bit sharp she should enjoy the easy surface
4.15 Not going to oppose Facile Vega, will probably double him with Energumene
4.50 Missed the prices on Tax For Max and Path d’Oroux so I’ll try Bialystok ew
5.25 Maybe Gentleman de Mee though he’d like quicker ground
6.00 Brave Fortune ew (is he for sale?)
    6.35 Classic Getaway
    Last two races: no idea

Good luck this week Grass, I’ll no doubt be congratulating you on a few loud ones that run blinders.

One additional bet here, and I’ve taken Saylavee at 17-2 in the opener.

Time of the opener was 3.3 sec slower than the same race last year, when the ground was officially good-yielding. Perhaps the ground is closer to yielding than soft. Gentleman de Mee looking a nice bet.

For a bit of fun Energumene, GDC, El Fabiolo, State Man for the four-timer.

    Grozni EW @ 12/1 6 places 6.00 Thursday

Appeared to be getting well backed in the run up to the Martin Pipe but just missed out on getting in. Ran a cracker at Leopardstown i thought in a in a 50K race and was half expecting about 7 or 8/1 or something.

Thanks folks. Danny Mullins could be in for a good week.

The 2nd and 3rd races were quicker times than their counterparts last year. I really do fancy Gentleman de Mee to put it up to his stablemate.

yea, nice one Green. Tax For Max to win the race next year then. Canny believe I’ve been sucked in by Diverge w/o fav. Had a 5 fold with Energumene as the last one, all have come in bar Diverge w/o Facile Vega when I could have just put in Facile Vega. Dumbaaaaasssss!
