Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
October 6, 2010 at 09:44 #321123Hats off to you Gord. You plucked this fellow up after his debut……amazing..

Cheers Soldier, the funny thing is for all the potential i could see in
Workforce
at 2 and confidently expecting the great things he delivered at 3,i feel the opposite about this
Frankel
fellow.he has as much chance of winning the Derby as those who constantly take a swipe at me actually managing to snaffle my shiny Crown, its doubled in value this year alone!
Keep winning yourself Nath and Keep those eyes peeled Wingman!
October 7, 2010 at 11:30 #321304Now that the dust has settled on this years 3 performances of the year,
Workforce
winning the Derby,
Memory
winning the Cherry Hinton and
Harbinger
winning the King George its time to assess the situation!
Memory
has only to turn up in tip top shape (unlike Canford Cliffs) to win her Guineas, that i have no doubt whatsoever, so much so,if i had a 100k lying in a bank i would have had £5k e/w at 16/1,instead i have £150 e/w at the price!(Not included in this thread) I have had 2 glory days with Workforce and Harbinger and feel at the prices
Workforce
is still the bet for the Arc at 15"s on the machine and 4 to place, poor
Gingertipster
has had his pants down with Barry Dennis for £200 at 2/1 for the Arc all because he has jumped in before he thought about Harbingers ground requirements! Silly boy! Anyway i have had £50 at 15"s and £50 at 4"s to place on Workforce for the Arc!
Well there is a pleasant surprise,i didn"t realise i had put the above
Workforce
Arc win and place bet on the forum!

£6792October 7, 2010 at 11:54 #321306I have backed
Workforce
at 44 and 42 on the machine before the Derby and have 16/1 12/1 and 10/1!
I"m kicking myself now for not putting figures on the above bet as if i included the above and my £1600 win on Harbinger this thread would be
£10,000
in profit!!
October 7, 2010 at 16:07 #321326Another one of those horses i have kept a close eye on this past year is
Prompter
, he hasn"t exactly set the world alight but i know connections think he is a progressive sort who will stay in training at 4. Saturdays Heritage handicap at Ascot will give him another chance to show why he is well regarded,Jamie certainly never got "Drinks all round" the last day from members!
I have had a bit of a touch for me with a £100 e/w with Ladbrokes at 8/1,1/4 1st 4. 4th place is crucial when you bet in Handicaps Ante-Post as 15 may only turn up!£6592

I’d rather be on Vulcanite (shorter than I thought he’d be at 13/2) and Ottoman Empire, TAPK.

Good luck with your selections AJ,i just feel
Prompter
is a Group 3 horse! I think the handicapper thinks so too mind! Michael Bell deserves a change of luck too!
October 8, 2010 at 21:28 #321446What you think in the sprint race at Ascot do you think Redford will win.My idea is he get beat by GENKI.Has had bad draws this year but is next to Redford i think he come out on top
And hope you let me know what you think of my derby tips as well in my thread to.

I’d be surprised if Genki is up to winning this, Darren. He hasn’t impressed this season for all that he’s been largely consistent and it’s interesting that he’s raced in October only once since his two-year-old season.
He wasn’t that badly drawn at Ayr and has probably had enough for this year.
Racecourse evidence points to Redford after two comfortable victories, but whilst I appreciate that he has the talent to excel at this level the loss of Frankie Dettori is a concern.
I’m happy to leave the race alone, but may risk a little on Triple Aspect back up in trip.

Darren
Redford
is a steering job and Richard Hughes riding is a significant tip in itself! Of course as i have said on many occassions before,Richard is a master of making something simple look difficult,i will be quite happy just watching tomorrow! Genki would be my only danger! I"ll have a look at your Derby selections now!

I hope you were on AJ,well done!I hope
Prompter
takes yours on again in the November Handicap though!

I certainly was, TAPK – I wouldn’t have put him up otherwise.
Ralph Beckett seems keen to target him at the November Handicap having won it with Come On Jonny in 2005 and it’s not difficult to see why. Soft or heavy ground might be a worry for him, but he’s rapidly progressive and will have come on again for today’s run.
I wouldn’t be too concerned about Prompter reversing the form either; he wasn’t ideally drawn, but had a useful claimer on top and was once again only getting in to things late on. I think he’s as good now as he’s going to be and will likely always find himself coming up short. Throw in the potential for further improvement from Vulcanite and this chap’s struggling.
October 9, 2010 at 17:02 #321556Am gutted on GENKI i thought he win that race i wish Murtagh and O’Brein stayed at home
And in the november handicap it is all about CONDUCT.Group horse in handicap we be calling him

Conduct won’t be out again this season, Darren.
October 9, 2010 at 18:16 #321566Sad news that is any news why that is

No particular reason, Darren, I think Highclere just want to give him time to develop. They believe he’s capable of competing in Listed and Group races next year and a slog around Doncaster probably isn’t ideal at this stage.
October 12, 2010 at 10:18 #321940I can remember
Weird Al
making his fencing debut at Cheltenham last year,he was getting 8lb from the very useful Knockara Beau,he jumped like you would expect for a horse who had only ever ran twice in his life before but as the race went on so did his progression,he stayed on really well up the hill to collar Knockara Beau close home, the pair clashed again at Wetherby on revised terms, that should have suited Knockara, but Weird al travelled and jumped all over him and proved that this fellow is progressing at a rate of knots. Corals are going 33/1 about his Gold Cup chances and i believe his form through Knockara Beau puts him right in there.Weird Al would have given Weapons Amnesty more to think about than anything in last years RSA and Weapons was a single figure price For Gold Cup glory! TAPK has to lead his troops by example and have risked a £100 e/w at 33/1 for Gold Cup Glory, thats a big bet at a big price for me but i know my horses!
