I’m finding it quite enjoyable trying to demystify the betting side of our sport, but it’s still a bit frustrating when ‘systems’ are posted here with no rules to support the selections. Surely these are just betting tips. Most tipsters are quite happy to talk about their methods, even when they are profitable. As I’ve said before, there are no secret formulae that will make any of us rich. A living, perhaps like any other work, but for riches try the lottery.

A lot of poor quality racing today over the jumps, but a few decent contests at Southwell, which provides today’s qualifiers.

There are a few quite highly-rated qualifiers today(high in terms of how far they are above the base form rating). This is because the method I use favours recent course form supported by relatively high speed ratings.
