    CAMPNELLE 3/1

Won at track before and with rain in France be doubts over Starman running this filly tough to beat

    Agree with you Darren

She should come on plenty for her seasonal reappearance in the commonwealth Cup

And given how respectably she ran over a mile in the breeders cup 6 1/2 furlongs shouldn’t be a problem

Obviously if Starman was to run he would take a lot of beating but I cant possibly desert her after the money she won me at ascot :good:

Both Rohaan and Kinross are rated higher than Campanelle, yet are likely to be hugely higher prices for reasons which escape me. Assuming there will be some cut will be in their favour too. I’ll happily go against the short priced favourite here over this special distance, with a strong staying sprinter in Rohaan, and a specialist 7f horse in Kinross.

Once the book is up I will make a final a decision, but I’m highly likely to back both of these.

Id say the reasons shes shorter are very much there for all to see TTC

    -Shes much less exposed
-Shes a double group 1 winner
    -Shes won at the track
-She handles everything from firm to heavy
-Frankie/wes ward factor always knocks half a point off

Whether she wins or not is different but there are definitely reasons why she is shorter than kinross/rohan

The racing post have the ground at deauville as good now, probably not very reliable but interesting for starman

Will wait to see if he runs or not before deciding what to do

I can her being far too short. The Morny wasn’t much of a G1, and I personally don’t consider she won LTO.

Looking like I can have Kinross and Rohaan dutched running for me at a better return than Campanelle on her own. Simple enough decision for me.

Dragon symbol has no interest in running in a straight line

Hes hung violently to the right 3 times in a row (I initially thought Murphy was switching him right at goodwood but the head on shows the horse is unsteerable)

    And was rightly chucked out

She was very fortunate to get the race in my opinion. I have little doubt with lesser profile connections she wouldn’t have. Agree to disagree.

On to France….I’d much rather dutch Kinross and Rohaan for a better return than a single on the Yank filly, who I feel has more to prove. I am often wrong – we shall see.

Whilst she was lucky imo to get the race at Ascot it was still better than i thought she would do pre race as it was her first run after an injury. One would think she would come on a fair bit for it, in which case she ought to win on the soft ground without Starman.

In the paper the trainer says starman Will run unless its bottomless so that props up the market nicely for the rest of the horses

I’m very glad campanelle didn’t drift out to a backable price

She reared on leaving the stalls and frankie did well to stay on

I played old Brando e.w but sadly he didnt get the breaks when he needed but still ran a cracker , thought starman ran a cracker on ground against him

Campanelle ran poorly even given the start. Probably needs to head back to the states for some ‘medication’. Agreed with Starman, but where now? Must be odds against anything without soft in it at the bogs that are Haydock and Champions Day. Breeders Cup?

I was guilty of over-concentrating on the British form in this one.

Theres not really a race for him at the breeders cup unless he drops back to 5f and id be surprised if he was quick enough to keep up with the likes of golden pal running around a sharp bend

They will just be hoping for good ground at haydock which looks unlikely

None of the horses on the far side seemed to run well in the straight course races at deauville today so if you backed one id put a line through it

Ah, fair point. The BC is at Del Mar, so the Turf Sprint will be over 5f. I agree this wouldn’t be ideal.

If its likely to be soft at haydock for the sprint cup then Brando looks a huge 40-1
