There’s a Group 1 in France today – some might say their equivalent of the QEII – and it seems to have loomed up almost unnoticed in some quarters.

No plans as yet to have a bet but I will be watching with interest.

If the ground was softer the revenant would be interesting but not sure it’ll be quite to his liking

Coroebus very much on a retrieval mission

My deep mistrust of French going descriptions is just one reason I’ll be watching, but not betting.

Weather looks fine and has been most of the week, they will have watered to maintain good ground with a slight ease.
The race itself looks a tart. Like you say, Coroebus is on a retrieval mission but I wouldn’t want to place any of my medium earned money on his short price.
I don’t like any of them but it is a group 1 so the betting gods have put a gun to my head. “Rocchigiani” I cried, hoping he could improve from his victory at Goodwood.
A few shackles at 18/1 for the W, 13/8 to P in the top 4.

I’ve also backed Epic Poet in the 15.33 with Billy Hills £5 double boost to get 8/1 for the Jean-Claude Van Damme Rouget team.

Goldistyle 16’s was a few lengths down against Saffron Beach but I feel if Saffron Beach was lining up here she’d be very close to being favourite

Doesn’t look good for Coroebus, screens up in the background after his fall when starting to make a challenge.

    Not sure about William Buick.

The incident has overshadowed an authoritative win from Dreamloper who has beaten Order Of Australia by farther than Inspiral did in the Prix Jacques le Marois and by a similar distance to Baaeed in the Queen Anne.

    Yes Ian

She cruised around and picked up nicely when the gaps opened

They should run her in the breeders cup mile

Good ground and a fast pace is what she needs

The ground may have gone by the time the sun chariot and QE2 come round

West Wind Blows also won with plenty of authority for the crisfords later on the card

Talk about a day sucking to the extreme – condolences to Godolphin and more importantly my thoughts are with the groom who will have to go back to an empty stable.
