WD backers. Walgeist would of gone really close in the Derby judged on that run. Think he will win the Irish Version like.

Thriller indeed. I think this race could work out a lot stronger than the Epsom equivalent, all the form horses ran their race, and the winner looks like a very hot prospect. He won it in much the same style as Wings of Eagles yesterday. It gives Churchill something to think about if he lines up against him in the St James Palace.

Recoletos ran and stayed well, he just lacked the turn of foot of the winner. That turn of foot is lethal on Brametot, coming around the home turn I thought he had left himself too much to do but my god he flew up.

This could be the next Almanzor.

Watching the replay, Waldgeist was awfully unlucky not to win in my opinion. He just couldn’t find the gap when he wanted it and had to be switched over to get out of trouble, if he had gotten first run on Brametot I’m not sure it would have been the same result.

Yes..very well done to all supporters of Brametot :good:
Just as an aside have put a fiver on Muthmir in the 4.40. his last run at Newmarket behind the talented Marsha was beyond bad so hoping the real Muthmir turns up today..not over confident but know if I leave him he’ll dot up.. you know the feeling  Jac

    Think PLUMATIC 22/1

Won very well on debut not win last time but could bounce back today

My thoughts exactly Darren, he’s the horse that’s most open to improvement and
the trainer mentioned that he really needed the run last time out. I could have taken
the 22/1 this morning, but I’ve taken the 20/1 with Sky as they are paying 4 places.
With the way things went yesterday, expect the O’Brien 3rd string, Taj Mahal, to bolt
in at 66/1. Damn, I’ve just said that, which means I can’t not have a couple of quid
    on him now

Well there’s something I wasn’t expecting, but thanks to those kind people at Skybet, with their 4th
place, and Mr O’Brien keeping to the same plan as yesterday, with the biggest outsider doing best, I’m
£122 quid up. Bizarre or what B-)

Muthmir did it :yahoo: After missing the break, Jim Crowley held him up at the rear and was a little worried at this point, but he came like a bolt out of the blue and won going away, nice to see that Muthmir is back on track again and well done Kentucky Spring (I could hear you cheering) and everyone else who backed him.
    Saved my day today..Jac :rose:
Many thanks to botchy for the Dubai racing link :good:

Sorry, I didn’t see this thread.

I watch the races live on Ze Turf. You have to register but you don’t have to deposit any money to watch the races live and the pictures are excellent. The commentary is in French though.

I was on Recoletos ante-post at 10/1 and I thought he travelled supremely well. He paralysed Waldgeist for speed last time but couldn’t quite kick the same in a much faster run race today. Brametot comes with a withering run in his races but at the odds today I felt he might just end up with too much to do and I was nearly right.

Waldgeist has run better today and been better served by the stronger pace and perhaps the cut in the ground.

Rivet was disappointing and yet another Haggas horse to prove out of his depth.

I had said a couple of times that Rivet seems a horse who sets up races for finishers and if anything I felt they might drop him to 7F. He looked an atypical Racing Post Trophy winner last year, in that pace, rather than stamina saw him win it.

I did go for Senga today, it was good going when I backed her but it ended up with some cut in it. The jockey sat right out the back in a very slowly run race and left her far too much to do. She did her best and finished well for third but even Miesque would not have picked them up at the front. A terrible ride.

Senga has reversed form with today’s favourite Heuristique by 8 lengths from their run in the French Guineas last time on very soft going. The bare bones of that would have seen Senga second by a length in the French Guineas on a literal reading. However today’s race was slow by five seconds in relation to the French Derby. Held up off the pace in a very slowly run race is historically a recipe for disaster and Senga never had a prayer today after a numb nuts ride.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I don’t think Senga wants absolutely any soft in the description for her to run her race. It was a disappointing ride though. I thought she might get pipped by Gold Luck today but not bloody La Sardane who she accounted fro comfortably 2 starts ago.

Brametot showed his class in this field but I’m not convinced it was that good a race. I wouldn’t have fancied him at that short a price in what I would have perceived as a better field stepping up in distance. Easy to back today though.

The updated change to good to soft annoyed me today. A group 1 day in France and it took until the last minute for there to be any update on what ground conditions were.
It probably helped Brametot but slightly hindered Senga and Talismanic. I’d like to see Talismanic up against Silverwave on better ground.

Nice one Muthmir backers, that race was too much of a mindf*** for me to select one with confidence.

Very nice indeed, I looked away for a sec, after he missed the break. GBI commentators before the race “ultra fast Marsha won’t challenge him today….”, roof nearly came of when he came thru a bit to far from the wire. He and Caspian Prince saved my classic investment losses (Rhododendron & Eminent).

Haha very well done Big G. Sometimes it feels like you’re better off just picking them all that way..

Congrats to those on Muthmir aswell.

    Botchy please, he’s called Waldgeist!
Yeah, this is German, but it’s not that difficult, is it?
