Does anyone know if Papal Bull and Ask are likely to be coupled on the PMU? In the racing post is only says AOBs three are coupled but no mention of Stoutes pair.
October 5, 2008 at 15:50 #183468The O’Brien pair are coupled because they are in the same ownership.
October 5, 2008 at 15:59 #183470Was de Royer-Dupre misinformed, or was this another media beat-up?
I guess you cannot be too surprised that the BBC are talking pure nonsense!
The BBC talk pure nonsense about everything these days they are a propaganda machine and because of this approach their previous professionalism has long been gone. If you want truth and fact look elsewhere.
However regarding De Royer Dupre my guess is he’s feeling the heat a little bit, its a huge day where his filly’s reputation is either going to soar to legendary status or the bubble is going to burst.
October 5, 2008 at 16:04 #183472All very confusing this as the ground according to a trainer who walked the course is said to be GS as per the SL website and course officials while the RP has it as good. Zarkava has won on GS and HY at Longchamp, has never raced on anything firmer than good so I really don’t see what the problem is for her.

Yes, looking at the form this morning, i thought the same myself.
There must be another reason, maybe something to do with her change of pace.
October 5, 2008 at 16:09 #183477No fence sitting – bubble will burst in spectacular fashion – no podium finish for the filly. I thik it’ll be a battle of the master trainers and the Arc specialist Fabre, who excels at getting older horses to peak, will provide the winner.

3. Soldier Of FortuneOctober 5, 2008 at 16:13 #183478ALAIN DE ROYER-DUPRE has moved to allay fears that Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe favourite Zarkava might not line up in this afternoon’s world turf championship by insisting that “in principle she runs”.
He said: “It is not true to say that she does not run.
In principle, she will run in the Arc. We had a lot of rain at Chantilly last night but apparently not in Paris.”
October 5, 2008 at 16:18 #183480‘World turf championship’ ??????
October 5, 2008 at 16:30 #183484Think I’m gonna take a chance and stick a fiver on Papal Bull

Yet she has quickened up in her previous races on such a surface and no qualms from the trainer on those occasions. You can now get 9-4 about her and while she may well win all these last minute worries wouldn’t encourage me to take it.
October 5, 2008 at 17:02 #183490‘World turf championship’ ??????
I agree – the Breeders’ Cup committee would be furious with that statement not referring to their races!
October 5, 2008 at 18:27 #183521Can someone put me off Kamsin please?
October 5, 2008 at 19:08 #183538Hello,
I am on SCHIAPARELLI each way @ 40/1.
Nice re-introduction last race, the Godolphin team have been suspiciously quiet, as has Frankie.
Although a lot has been said about the standard of the race, I ain’t sure it is that good. O’Brien’s may have gone over the top, and the French don’t exactly jump off the page…yep, Godolphin will maintain their excellent record..
regards,
doyley
October 5, 2008 at 19:17 #183541For the sake of racing, I hope Schiaparelli does perform well.
He will single-handedly turn the stable around after 2-3 years of dark.
Very confident for Vision d’Etat. Pace strong, he’ll thrive.
October 5, 2008 at 19:23 #183543Can’t put you off Kamsin, solid ew value imo.
October 5, 2008 at 19:25 #183545I wish someone would tell Willie Carson that Allez France did not win two Arcs.

October 5, 2008 at 19:54 #183549Coolmore, Ask and Getaway look too big
