He says something seemingly obvious but worth remembering. Apparently he makes the same mistake I do at the start of every jumps season: trying to be too clever with the form book on big race days when in fact ‘all the power is with a handful of trainers’.

Of course, it won’t stop me looking for (and finding) the Paintballs and Carruthers etc but he’s right in general. But depressing in some ways.

Perhaps the reason that a Saturday during the jumps season reads thus:-

Nicholls, Henderson, Pipe, Pipe, Henderson, Nicholls with a little dash of Nicholls, Henderson on the side. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
