Actually, Betfair do care whether you win or not on the exchange, or how fast you win anyway.
The exchange is a big “money go round,” out of which Betfair siphon off a few percent in commission each race.
Anyone who is winning money off the other exchange users faster than Betfair are siphoning it off steadily in commission isn’t great for the “eco system” of the exchange.
Betfair (in commission) want to be the principal winners, not individual professional punters.
Hence things like premium charges.
Even on the exchange, they don’t really want you to win.

I can just imagine providing P60, wage slips etc only to be told your account is to be limited to £1 a bet!
December 15, 2022 at 15:03 #1626928I entirely agree – it’s a desperate state of affairs.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 28, 2022 at 18:45 #1628666I find myself bombarded with advertising for gambling sites. ITV is awful. Many times I have fallen asleep during some dreary drama and woken up to invitations to chuck money at bingo, poker or whatever. Facebook is at it now. I have supposedly blocked certain advertisers several times but keep seeing them. Luckily I don’t have a gambling problem but, if I did, I can’t imagine how hard it would be to fight, given that this sort of hard sell appears even where you think you are safe. I tried to tag the Culture Secretary into my reply to Mecca on Facebook but that was blocked. It all stinks. We expect betting sites to advertise during racing and in racing press and I doubt any of those ads persuade anyone who wasn’t already going to bet to do so. That this non sport-related advertising is now so invasive must be a concern yet, as always, the government is looking for the easy win.
December 28, 2022 at 19:53 #1628678People who entirely legitimately just love racing for racing get inundated with unsolicited betting adverts, ditto vulnerable losing gamblers, while those few punters who manage to keep their head above water, or can actively make a living from betting if given the chance, can’t get on.
It seems to me that The Gambling Commission is failing everyone.
