i think trafford lad is worth another go from his 4th in the powers gold cup got boxed in just before 3 out then made mistake 3 out due to boxed in then switched left no room switch right found gap then boxed in again after last jockey had to take pull and only lost by lenght or 2.
golden silver form isnt worth taking into account due to ground against him and after beaten was not put into race by ruby

dont think the form is to great to be honest.

While I’d agree that it probably wasn’t the strongest renewal of the Powers Gold Cup, I thought that was a big effort from Aran Concerto. To win grade 1 on only his second chase start and after being off the track for a few months was a great achievement. I know he’ll have to improve a hell of a lot but he could just be an interesting outside bet for next year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup. I hope the horse stays sound (I heard that Paul thought he might have been lame after pulling up) because he’s undoubtedly talented.

Trafford Lad was disappointing. His early season form has tailed off completely. I know he didn’t come out of the Moriarty great but I thought the break since then would have seen him come back to his best. It wouldn’t surprise me if Dusty swerved Punchestown and roughed him off in order to freshen him up for next season. He’ll be a force in races like the Durkan if he can rediscover his early season form.

It seems that Aran Concerto has been injured again, following the race. He pulled up lame after the race.

Was just thinking after this race what an opportunity Willie Mullins missed with Barker not to go down the handicap route- he was practically handicapped over fences when he got him and could have won a few big pots before the assessor caught up with him. I suppose second in a Group 1 will do the owner though. I suspect his previous trainer will disappear off the face of the racing earth now.
