With the opinion polls still indicating a hung parliament, what could be more appropriate on election day 2010 than a horse called Power Shared?
This certainly wasn’t a long term plan, as he’s missed three or four races during April due to fast ground, but we’ve declared him for Newton Abbot 3:05 tomorrow and are hopeful that the going will be safe enough.
Most of his best form, including his two wins, have been on tracks that swing to the right, but he’ll have to ignore the view of the electorate and go left to win this one.
His colours are blue and white, but that’s not an indication of Tory support, as they are based on the St Andrews Cross, the flag of Scotland.
The Betfair opinion poll on his contest suggests he may lose his deposit, but like Gordon Brown, he never knows when he’s beaten!
Vote Power Shared – but each way is the tactical vote.

May 6, 2010 at 14:38 #294415A big disappointment as he was pulled up with a circuit to run when tailed off. Subsequent examination by the course vet found that he had a ‘very irregular heartbeat’, so at least we have a reason for his display.
He’ll be rested at home and then checked again after exercise by his usual vet to see if we have a recurring problem.
His career over fences is proving about as predictable as the election, with four runs so far producing form ‘figures’ of R – F – 1 – P !
