Anyone see this ? .. Darryl Holland doing a fine impersonation of Jason Behan .. weaving around and pulling his mount inside into traffic when the obvious route was outside .. even managing to take a cheeky pull ten yards from the line couldn’t disguise the fact that he appeared to finish full of running .. now that he’s got his handicap mark it will be interesting to see where they place him over the coming weeks
October 11, 2010 at 20:00 #321889Cheers for the heads up Chris, will keep an eye out.

That was criminal, though perfectly in keeping with Holland’s recent efforts aboard Sud Pacifique and Unex Dali.
October 11, 2010 at 20:23 #321892I have just watched the race 3 times and as blatant a non trier it was,the "Interesting" point was just inside the final furlong when
Point North
had his head virtually yanked off causing a violent reaction from the horse, who was a more than willing participant, shame Darryl Holland wasn"t! Remember the Stewards would have been having Tea and Tiffin at 5pm,so it will have gone unnoticed down at BHA HQ! well spotted Burrough!
October 11, 2010 at 20:39 #321897If not family connected, retained, or being in with the in crowd, you must do as told if you want to keep riding. It’s been the downfall of many good jockeys.

I’ve contacted the BHA to see if the matter is to be looked in to, but whether I’ll get a response is anybody’s guess.

They wont have much choice in future when TRF has its direct line to the BHA"s HQ! 3 months for todays "Performance" Darryl, another one like that and its a year! Simple and yet?…….

A tenner says it was looked at – or will be looked at.

I hope you’re right, reet, but twenty says nothing will be done about it given the trainer and owner involved.
October 11, 2010 at 21:20 #321906Having just seen the race, it did look really bad.
Although I understand that horses can become unbalanced, and also the animal could have gone wrong – I really am at a loss to explain that
Is it me, or are things getting worse?
We have all seen jockeys elbows moving far more furiously than their wrists for years, but some of the more recent examples really do ask questionsOctober 12, 2010 at 05:59 #321912

AJ
The owner doesn’t bet, the trainer’s far too sharp to need horses pulled to get them a good mark, and D Holland’s no rank amateur, either.
I’ll agree it didn’t look very good, but I’d be amazed if there isn’t a better explanation than some we’ve seen on this thread.October 12, 2010 at 12:54 #321977I’ve contacted the BHA to see if the matter is to be looked in to, but whether I’ll get a response is anybody’s guess.
AJ – I’ve replied. Those emails get passed on to Integrity, who do reply to take a little bit of time to do so.

Reet wins his tenner.
From our website:
Darryll Holland, the rider of POINT NORTH (IRE), reported that the colt hung badly right.I can confirm that they did consider a running and riding enquiry but were of the opinnion that the film bears out what jockey reported.
I’m sure AJ will post Integrity’s response when it arrives.

"The colt hung badly right" Yep it sure did. Why did the horse hang badly right? The horse hung badly right because it was being restrained beyond reasonable force,it was still being restrained as it crossed the winning line! I bet it wasn"t you who accepted the opinion that the film bears out what the jockey reported Silvoir? I hope not anyway!
October 13, 2010 at 02:09 #322124It was said in many quarters during and after the Casela Park case "what would have been the decision and subsequent action if it was a bigger fish that needed fried"
I think that question has been answeredOctober 13, 2010 at 15:35 #322213

And I’ve won my twenty, Silvoir.
I await the integrity department’s report with great anticipation.

I don’t think you know you’ve won your twenty until you get your reply from integrity, and even then if no further action is taken it won’t be because of connections.
