I might be completely mad, but I do like the idea of doing a racing podcast. Only problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to do it! I’m sure it’s pretty simple though – any idea of what equipment to use.
The other thing is that I’d like to get a bunch of people who can contribute to it. With my job at the mo’ I wouldn’t want to do it all myself, and besides, who wants to listen to me waffling on.
Oh, and I’d want to make it fun, confrontational, sarky, rude and borderline defamatory. Just some people chatting testes about racing, basically! Nothing TOO serious.
Oh, and I’d want to get it running in time for the Jumps season properly, around Charlie Hall Chase time, I reckon.
Any ideas?
FLD
P.S. Please note I have loads of ideas that I think are great (and other people think are anything but!) that never get followed up on!

August 25, 2011 at 21:54 #369198Do you want to put the podcast on iTunes? Also do you use mac os or windows?
August 25, 2011 at 22:20 #369201I use Mac (OS X), and, yes, I’d love to put it on iTunes.

August 25, 2011 at 22:56 #369206Well, OS X makes it a little simpler since you can easily record the audio on Garage Band (do tell me if you need more info on recording the original audio) but you need to export it to your RSS feed, which is basically your own blog sort of thing, then submit it (the RSS URL) to iTunes. I’ve never actually done this, I only know the basic method, and it does seem quite difficult, but if you’re passionate about getting it done, I’d be happy to help in any way I can.
August 25, 2011 at 23:43 #369207Someone is trying to get one going on twitter @PGHenn a man called Peter Henn, could be worth looking into?

That Peter Henn chap is undoubtedly a visionary genius and devilishly handsome to boot.

October 14, 2011 at 21:32 #19895Hi,
Just to let everyone know, the VERY FIRST episode of "Over The Last: The National Hunt Podcast" is online HERE
<!– m –>http://jumpspodcast.podbean.com<!– m –>
This week, the team discuss our horses to follow over the upcoming jumps season, tomorrow’s meeting at Cheltenham, a mysterious man called Tony…and are those aliens trying to abduct us.
Refreshingly, Hughesgate, Strikegate and Whipbangate are conspicuous by their absence.
Hopefully it should be on iTunes very, very shortly, but do have a listen, and do enjoy.

November 13, 2011 at 21:52 #20230Owing to a technological screw-up, Friday night’s edition of Over The Last is lost to the midsts of time.
BUT! I’ve got a special episode salvaged from the ashes. It’s an Open Meeting review, albeit one which takes detours round Bangor-on-Dee and Fontwell and, as a special bonus, I gratuitously slag off a horse which didn’t even run this weekend.
Here you are – <!– m –>http://bit.ly/sdiDhY<!– m –>
Hope you like it.

December 6, 2012 at 22:17 #23161Hiya,
Just to let you lot know that if you want to listen to this week’s Over The Last – featuring opinions, discussions and random quoting of Manic Street Preachers songs – then the link is below
<!– m –>http://jumpspodcast.podbean.com/2012/12 … sode-five/<!– m –>
It’s also available on iTunes, but I’m never entirely sure HOW one links with it.

April 4, 2013 at 21:36 #23807It’s the Over The Last Grand National special – do have a listen. There’s even a subscription button – only 35,500 more subscribers until we have the same number of listeners as the UK Porn Podcast.

February 6, 2015 at 15:28 #27474A few years ago, I did a jumps podcast, and a lot of fun it was, too.
Anyway, earlier this week I did another one, so if you want to have a listen, it’s here.
