I very rarely comment on threads like these, prefering to smile at the naievity prior to the increasingly ridiclous defence of an initial accusation.

Jeremy is absolutely right in what he is saying. I would further add that Hi Density would almost certainly have travelled over with the Gordon Elliott horses to share costs, and given the she travelled with them it’s not unreasonable to assume that she would have Carberry booked given he was already riding Elliott’s horses in other races.

In terms of the improvement they have presumably travelled her over looking for a weak race and fast ground, and with a top jockey on board you would expect some improvement and they simply got the result they’d hoped for. Going off at 13/2 in such a weak race hardly suggests they were confident though and she only beat an 85 rated horse!

As for the suggestion that Dennis O’Regan jumped off the favourite, what an absolute joke. The horse clearly jinked right of its own accord and, although O’Regan should perhaps have made a better job of staying on, there is no way it was a deliberate act.

These sorts of conspiracy theories are laughable at best and are the product of either over-active immaginations or simple sensationalism.

Jeremy, you are being deliberately obstinate now.

I wasn’t doing any punditry on the race last night, and hadn’t studied it in any depth beforehand (I was busy meeting some other deadlines instead).

However, had I have been doing so, I would genuinely have considered the propensity for improvement on the surface and – yes – the booking of Carberry (strictly on account of his availability, however, and not as a sign of a plot) as potential plus points that would give Hi Density a better chance than the row of noughts would possibly first indicate she has.

It’s hardly "being deliberately obstinate" to apply the same analysis to explain how Hi Density put in a better performance after the race as I would have used to tell anyone to expect a better performance before it.

    I trust this helps.

Years ago when I first started riding I would cringe when listening to punters on a Saturday afternoon mouthing off about so and so "not trying a leg" or so and so "jumped off it"

Typical of many betting shop punters who have never sat on a horse in their lives.

You want to injure yourself jump of a chaser. You want to kill yourself jump of a hurdler.

This was a very straightforward case of a horse going one way and a jocky going the other.

THE PLOT: That’s more comical than saying he jumped off it

Maybe they called him up and offered him 10% of their winnings

Very well organised but they made one mistake. Despite it being a piss rotten race they forgot to back the horse  13/2 7/1 in a bad race like that? come of ffs please use your brains even I can calculate that 10% of Zero is not a lot to offer someone to risk their life, serious injury and a ban.

Maybe they backed it for thousands in Ireleand and no one noticed

This thread gives us an opportuinity guys to start a "Hall of Fame" this could top the league of the most silly.

Nothing suspicious about the booking either. Carberry was obviously there to ride for Elliot……or maybe Elliot entered three to cover up the plot

I used to enjoy the stories on the Magic Roundabout but this one is better

Now I see how the confrontational style of some posters deters others from using the forum.

In my experience the best and most able people in society will answer questions that may appear ‘silly’ with a little humility and good manners but since you want to get personal… While you were watching the Magic Roundabout I was probably at Ascot watching Grundy and Bustino or at York marvelling at Sea Pigeon winning the Ebor depending on what episode of Zebedee, Florence and Dougal you were engrossed in.

I have no wish to appear confrontational. I just felt your comment in the intial post was so way off the mark it was bordering on ludicrous.

Artless did a violent right turn as he jumped the first flight and gave his rider little or no chance of staying on. The idea that Denis O’Regan ‘jumped off’ is, quite frankly, absurd.

So you think it’s good manners to accuse a perfectly decent man of cheating? Blacken his name with some cock’n’bull tripe that is like something out of a comic book? and you talk to me about manners?

For someone who has been around long enough to remember Sea Pigeon who incidentally I have had the pleasure of having a ride on, you seem to know nothing about racing. At least not enough to speak sense.

If you want to stop a horse the last thing on earth you would do is jump of him especially at the first.
Why not run him flat to the boards for 1m4f and he” stop like shot? Pull him up and jump off claim you thought he was lame?….if the trainer is involved leave him short of a gallop?

Perhaps next time you should check if there has been any unusual markert activity something stwewrds do automatically before pulling riders or trainers up for explainations

You obviously haven’t done that you have just blasted in without any thought and shouted "Foul" Perhaps you lost a few quid and were angry I don’t know, but for me all you have done is make a complete fool of yourself and called a perfectly good man a cheat for no reason whatsoever.
