Afraid i can’t go into the other runners for this race. Only had one in mind for this for some time now.
Glenloe
Ran a very eye catching race along with Presenting Percy in the big qualifier at Punchestown last February. He was put away for the season and appeared at Naas, in a race that is working out really well. He ran second that day giving weight to two well handicapped horses in Oscar Knight and Diamond Cauchois.
Both of those are now rated 14 & 20 lbs higher. He qualified for this over Christmas and not ran since. His trainer said in an article this week ” Glenloe runs in the Pertemps if he gets into the race. ”
Currently on 134 in Ireland it looks doubtful, however a few weeks back crafty old Gordon entered him in a qualifier at Huntingdon and he received a UK mark of 137 which should be fine to get in at the bottom of the weights.
Not the biggest price in the world @ 10/1
February 22, 2018 at 12:15 #1343446Shame it’s such a short price, good shout though Botchy, must be in with a massive chance, Elliot certainly knows how to get one on a good mark for a festival handicap!
February 25, 2018 at 00:51 #1343898Early shortlist for me…..
Beat That
Callet Mad
Connetable
Delta Work
Sykes
Taj BadalandabadI’m a wee bit surprised that Calett Mad, only went up 4lbs for that Musselburgh win, so he’ll be an early play here at 20’s NRNB BOG
I’ll add more definitely, but that’ll do for now.
March 5, 2018 at 23:44 #1344903I’d be very interested in adding Kansas City Chief here at 33’s, been keeping an eye on him since his switch. 33’s NRNB available, but just a bit concerned that he’s missing from a few firms lists. I suppose that’s the beauty of NRNB, and might just take a chance in the morning.
March 6, 2018 at 13:57 #1344945Calett Mad going AB VTC, although off 142 I really fancied him also.
Delta Work for me antepost, really like his run at Leopardstown in Feb behind Total Recall and think he ran the last day to keep his mark down.
March 6, 2018 at 17:26 #1344965Another of the established handicaps…… day 3 on the new course.
12/12 at least 6 hurdle runs
6/6 rated 138-148
17/19 not won qualifier
4/5 6 yr old
14/18 11-02 or below
13/22 won lto (20% runners)
9/12 won class 2 or above
7/23 Irish trained
0/69 FR breds this century
14/15 6-9 yrs old
11/12 3 runs minimum this season
7/12 ran at cheltenhamLast 4 Irish winners ran in the Leopardstown Qualifier
The qualifier stat, only 2 winners of qualifiers have been successful in the last 19 runnings, suggesting you need a little in hand to win the final.
The trend recently has been to the younger brigade,6 yr olds winning 4 of the last 5.
Last time out winners another positive, not that many this year.JP has 6 qualified, the two I like are Glenloe and A Great View, both need a few to come out.
Jonjo has a likely improver in Forza Milan, sat nicely at number 24.Too early for me to get involved, stamina will be key here, especially if we get softer than normal, the ground at Leopardstown over xmas looked really dead,no surprise that historically throws up winners.
Leaning towards the Irish at present, nothing from the home team stands out as we speak.March 9, 2018 at 15:20 #1345418I like Sort It Out @ 12’s. Having been off for a year and a half he has raced over fences against the likes of Petit Mouchoir, Footpad and Al Boum Photo, where he failed to impress on each occasion. He then ran in the Pertemps Network Group Handicap Hurdle where he kept on well to finish 3rd. I was impressed with the way he ran and he looked to enjoy reverting back to hurdles and stepping up in trip. This race produced both pertemps winners in the last two year in Presenting Percy (4th) and Mall Dini (3rd). I like this and he showed real promise before his injury finishing 2nd in the County Handicap Hurdle and then beating subsequent Galway Hurdle winner Clondaw Warrior who is now rated 155. People talk about McManus plot jobs and I think this could potentially be one of them. Hasn’t crept under the radar by any means but you can still get 12’s and i think he will shorten on the day.
March 15, 2018 at 14:01 #1346712Ended up with three here.
Dell Arca 33’s/40’s ew up to 6 Places, 40’s and 42’s
Delta Work 11’s
Kansas City Chief 25’s ew 6 places, 33’s ewLove this race, but no win for a few years now.
March 15, 2018 at 14:03 #1346714Dell Arca, Who Dares Wins, Forza Milan and Sykes for me. Had to abandon Theos Charm as i couldn’t justify having 5!
March 15, 2018 at 14:12 #1346720Forza Milan was 12/1 but boosted to 14s by Lads. Also having Louis Vac Pouc,
again boosted to 11/1. Today started well, I hope it continues
March 15, 2018 at 14:12 #1346721Peter, I fear Sykes, great chance
March 15, 2018 at 14:22 #1346723Oh Barry!!

March 15, 2018 at 14:45 #1346728March 15, 2018 at 15:20 #1346746@viktors yes that didn’t go to plan. I nearly didn’t back Louis Vac Pouc
because of the Hobbs factor, but I like the horse. Not sure what is going
on in the Hobbs yard, it’s just not happening this year
March 15, 2018 at 22:17 #1346864Can somebody explain the result of the photo to me?
March 15, 2018 at 22:51 #1346879Faces are merged, Delta is on top, Glenloe bottom. The white strip is Glenloe’s face, delta Work was wearing a hood.
