SACKED BY BLACKBURN
December 16, 2008 at 21:35 #197401Unfourtunatly for Ince and other new managers of a lot of clubs instant results are required even if he hasn’t had much time to develop his own squad/ideas.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Mark Hughes was to go back to Blackburn once/when or if Man City sack him.

December 16, 2008 at 22:14 #197435Dont agree
He lost the dressing room early on. Before the first match some have suggested. My club stuck with John Hollins in similar circumstances many years back and a decent squad was relegated. Once the players dislike or dont respect you then its a long way back
The people running the club will know a lot more than any of the public (although fans close to the club pick up more than often assumed) The parrallel has been drawn with Megson, but who knows what was going onj behind the scenes?
Its the media and other clubs fans who stick up for these lame duck managers, because it is easy to do so….
December 16, 2008 at 23:35 #197465I suppose it was down to money i.e. Blackburn cannot afford to be relegated, and Ince’s inexperience in dealing with the overinflated egos of the overhyped, overrated, and overhere Premiership footballer (did I mention overpaid?).
Over and out!
December 17, 2008 at 20:22 #197667The idea of ince as the new capello is one that would suprise some people… lets just say that the best managers are usually brighter than the average football person..
Lets just put that mildly
I dont think that Capello thought that Golf was more important than coaching and management courses when he was climbing the tree either
December 18, 2008 at 05:34 #197793Looks like he’ll be getting 4 million in compensation. Not bad for 3 months of underachievement.
December 18, 2008 at 15:30 #197820Ince is a big mouth and deserved to be sacked. Slagging off Celtic indeed. Huh !

When did the English Premiership last have a good English born manager ? None to speak of who have made any telling impact. Most of the clubs in the Premiership are operating under a false economy in any case. Take away Sky TV money, sugar daddies and the benefits derived there from and most of them would be selling raffle tickets and having car boot sales just to survive. When it boils down to it, there are really only a handful of big clubs in England. Blackburn isn’t one of them.

December 19, 2008 at 15:50 #197991Good to see Rennaisance Man Tony Adams backing Ince today and being baffled by his sacking
Ince and Adams. Mates of course. Thick and thicker….
Whatever anyone thinks of Allradyces methods its baffling that a manager of his experience and professionalism was unemployed whilst Golfing Ince and his "old school" coaching team drew a salary
December 20, 2008 at 04:37 #198164Paul Ince was quite simply not upto doing this job and to be honest is not a very good manager anyway.
At both Macclesfield and MKD he had Ray Mathias as his assistant who has managed clubs like Wigan (won the LDV Trophy before being sacked) and Tranmere and has good knowledge at this level and i think it was him who was probably doing most of the work.
I am amazed that Ince had a go at footballers having huge egos when he nicknamed him self The Guv’nor and when he signed for Liverpool proudly said "I’ll make Liverpool great again"
And now Big Sam is at the helm, well he only did ok with Bolton as they are a club with no ambition apart from staying in the top flight which to be fair he did pretty well albeit with Loans and Frees.
Newcastle were however different as they see themselves as a big club but sadly they are not, they are only big as regards the size of the team and believed that you can win trophys instantly and unfortunatley Big Sam realized that he actually had to try and win something for Newcastle who will always be underachievers.
