    Really hard to know.

About a year into the Hamdan job, I thought he’d improved as a rider and was set for the Richard Hills-style ‘job for life’…then the sky fell in.

Timeform recently suggested he is only the fourth-best of Richard Fahey’s regular riders this season by their pacing and efficiency stats (behind McNamara, Hamilton and McHugh).

I try not to slag jockeys off because a lot of the time it is my pocket talking and after I have calmed down and watched the replay and analysed it I am more often than not wrong and I give the jockey the benefit of the doubt…

However I am going to rant about this fella!!

His standard of riding has deteriorated rapidly in the last couple of years IMO and I try to avoid betting him but sometimes you can’t.
I backed him on Here and Now in the Melrose at York and had a nice each way punt at 20/1 and 25/1 and to be honest it should have won, He got beat two necks when IMO he should have won a length he took forever to try and straighten the horse out when it hung and seemed to have no strenght in a finish and even Mrsraymo said who was on that was it an apprentice? Out of the mouths of innocents eh?
I am sorry to say a man to avoid nowadays. (even though Mrsraymo backed Stamp Hill with him up!!) LOL

I feel sorry for the fellow.
I think it comes down to a confidence thing.
I think raceriding mirrors life in that if your luck is out and you really need a break , then you seldom get one.
That said, I don’t think that he is riding that well currently, and he certainly doesn’t appear that strong in a finish. I hope he bounces back.
