Zorro and turtle many thanks. You have both flown with the eagles, seen the stars, and earned them.

:yikes: And like all good Hollywoods… the monster returns uncannily from the deep to cheat death. One of the best things about boards is the surprise factor.

Ever had a niggle, somethings not quite right ?

ACR first put the Ricky Gervais tag on Davies and I sort of latched on to it. Davies is often very funny… I quote from memory
When I do make my first mistake I will let you all know
…but no, gervais is a one size too small. Ian has his serious indefatigable side so I have re-cast him as Captain Ahab in the old sea tale of Moby Dick, played mysteriously well by the Ian Davies’s lookalike the late and great Gregory Peck. The long haired wig, tinged with grey streaks, is in a jiffy in the post.
"Thar she blows"
Where Davies is actually taking this vessel God only knows, or whether he is after the white whale or just white hair is also a mystery ?

I do chip away at the Davies empire, and will continue to do so, because he has grown so much in the last six and I just don’t like institutions

Zorro you have come the fickle  way here tempting fate in taking the dangerously unchartered northern lights passage route to our small island, dressed up as jack the seaman. You should of course have put your french connection mac on and screeched in blue Renault braking Hackman style and had tea with Clare Balding. I will give you some warning in a song…

:sing: ‘There may be trouble ahead’

As for the dumming down of chanel four racing, are we, the men and women in white coats, and some quite mad, the right voices to debate this, or even arrive at a half-baked ?

One of the reasons I came back for one more shout was finding out yesterday, through an internet search, that a friend I thought had had their cloggs removed for three years is actually on the underground like the rest of us. We must celebrate life, and our four legged friends.

Well I am off now for a day in town, it may and should be a very long one ;)

flatcapgamble.."his lamb has become a hot vapour" – a bible quote. Now he can start the rest of his life :)
p.s.edit I have detected a rare currant..’ no Davies post in 24 hours’. Has he lifesaverly jumped ship to sit on a far wave to grin at us – and left us at the mercy of that very same sixty footer frothball – without the protection of Ahab? Has the french connection closed the tunnel and smooth skinned its hackerbaggies to column inch again in peace ? Talking houses are very fragile things and it does not take much to unsettle or unship them. That is in part of their wonder – the nightmare of the lost poster and ghosts in space

Care for a moderated jar of ale Pewter ?

No thank you I am into a Poe.

second edit :shhh: the ship creaks
third edit…nothingness
:crossfingers:
fouth edit

Ahab rode the huge wave fighting full strength as underneath his missing leg swelled up and bore down with a fury to match the fear of the eye-popping flies below

Gregory.I.Peck… square jawed 6’3"… totally committed and powerful actor, taken by a large wave, missing, presumed deaf. " He came into the room and changed the room " Oscar…To kill a Mocking bird…small time lawyer pokes a big finger at prejudice in white America. Declared interests…to make the world a better place and a truer exchange of commodities and views.

Gene Hackman…a hard nosed 6’2"… sublimely dexterous actor and bitter at missing the main role in the Mask of Zorro. Oscar..The french connection..No-one understands the plot but in the film Hackman beats the living daylight out of the only person who did. Declared Interests… Eating salted beef sandwiches, flying low planes, and racing bars.

Certainly one of the very best Ricky and my best remembered moment was being hoodwinked by a clever turtle. Haigh was at his best in this, and his long absent quiet periods were particularly poignant, and bullited up the pressure. In fact everyone rose to the occasion.

Just waiting for a rainy day

Does anyone know when Paul last posted on TRF?

Shame he doesn’t post now, he seems like a very amiable man.

Shame that some posts of banned people have been removed with them. Makes the thread a bit disjointed.
Also a bit strange that posts from others who have been banned are still visible.
