Our Vic has always been one of my favourites, fantastic moment when he stood up after quite a while on the ground in the Boylesports a couple of years back.

As Roland just mentioned, Our Vic came out much the best horse at the weights in the Ryanair, and the extra distance should benefit him more than Taranis. However, one is 10/1 and the other much much bigger. Anyone?

could it be that mentally he hasn’t got over that fall, or was he a bit enigmatic prior to that?

I noted timeform have him down as a squiggle horse now but he’s still the 3rd highest rated chaser on their ratings.

I have to say that i thought i had his measure as i’ve won more money on him than any other horse but i’m not sure now.
i thought it was a great performance to give neptune collonges 12lbs in the charlie hall, who later ran 4 fantastic races culminating in a grade1 win and i was positive he should have gone for the King george and then gold cup.
His defeat in the cotswold chase i thought was due mainly to sulkiness rather than not staying, as he seemed to down tools far too quickly after hitting the 2nd last. And in the ryan air, i layed him for the first time, adamant he would be outpaced in the last couple of furlongs by much speedier rivals and instead he puts himself out the back for half the race only to decide he’d like to race in the last half mile, coming out at the weights with much the best performance!

    I just don’t know.

Its easier to work out a womans mind than it is Our Vic’s.

Interestin point Moehat – I don’t think he’d been a monkey at all before that fall. A lot of people were thinking that he was going to be the next big thing at that time.

The trouble with Our Vic is there’s no pattern to his form really backing up the argument that he’s temperamental. I reckon he’s a mid 160’s horse who in a bad year would have a decent chance in the gold cup but he won’t get near Kauto star, Denman or Exotic Dancer..
