The sport can be so cruel sometimes. Whilst one wants all horses to be ok, it hurts so much more when it is a favourite as the stars are the ones that keep one watching year in year out. Really casts a shadow over the rest of the festival. Devastating stuff.
Condolences to the connections.
RIP
March 11, 2014 at 16:45 #470905Poor young lad. only 5 y-o with such a great future.
So sad
March 11, 2014 at 18:24 #470924Absolutely gutted. Had a great future ahead.
RIP Our Conor.
March 11, 2014 at 19:03 #470937Devastated, was hoping they could save him. They seemed to be travelling so fast towards the 1st Hurdle and throughout the race and when I saw his fall I feared we would lose him. It took the shine off of Jezki’s brilliant win as you can’t possibly feel happy when you know a horse is out there fatally injured.
Condolences to Dessie Hughes and his team and the owners.
RIP Our Conor..so sad that this has happened, God Bless
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 11, 2014 at 19:57 #470957Would have won a Champion Hurdle of some description at some point.
Really put a downer on the day.

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 11, 2014 at 21:04 #470980Very sad. Definitely put a downer on the day. Anyone know if gardefort in the last was ok? Took a fall 2 out when a fair way behind. Stayed down but not heard anything which I will take as good news.
March 11, 2014 at 21:08 #470981Even worse when there’s the long journey back to Ireland afterwards. The end of a life and a dream. Very sad.
March 11, 2014 at 22:10 #471014The news took the shine off a good day. Such a talented horse.

March 12, 2014 at 00:59 #471076Absolutely gutted by this, such a wonderful day of racing and plenty of profit made, but I’d quite happily chuck it all in and more to have this horse up and running again.
Such a good natured and promising horse, rest well you beautiful thing.
