I believe she gave birth to a bay colt on 9th March?
She is my favourite horse of all time and it is 1 of my dreams to meet her, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with contact details of the best person to get in touch with for this?
March 20, 2008 at 23:55 #153050more of a fan of nh racing, but this mare used to have me in tears when she raced: an absolute superstar- someone here said her next foal will be by Manduro! Hope you get to meet her; one of the best days of my life was when I met Desert Orchid for the first time…
March 21, 2008 at 00:10 #153052Am i right in saying the sire to the newborn is Monsun? I think i read it last year, or do i mean Manduro?
March 21, 2008 at 00:13 #153053Her win in the Prince of Wales Stakes in 2006 is my favourite finish to a race of all time, I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve watched it on Youtube.
Breeding with Manduro is what dreams are made of! I said to a friend recently imagine Ouija Board breeding with Manduro, superhorse! (On paper)..
I can’t believe that would ever happen!!??

It was Kingmambo, she’s off to visit Monsun next.
March 21, 2008 at 02:16 #153064What would Ladbrokes offer for this colt to win the 2011 Derby?
March 21, 2008 at 08:56 #153089Not very good odds.
Not since Raymond Guest’s 1000/1 bet on Sir Ivor for the 1968 Derby, made when the colt was a yearling.

March 27, 2008 at 13:40 #154062Thanks everyone, especially Gaz.
I got in touch with them and I’ve just had an invite to visit her and her foal in June, I’m absolutely made up

And just to confirm, she is currently in Germany being covered by Monsun.
March 27, 2008 at 13:45 #154064Thats really decent that they let you go and meet her. Fairplay for getting in contact with them and well done to them for being so kind. Great pic Gaz.
March 27, 2008 at 13:49 #154065Breeding with Manduro is what dreams are made of!
I can only hope you have a good rectal surgeon on hand…
March 27, 2008 at 13:55 #154068What a lovely photo. Such exciting news – thanks for bringingit to my attention.
I was lucky enough to meet Oujia Board on a tour of Ed Dunlop’s yard in 2006. They even paraded her for us and she is a magnificent beast – she has the most incredible engine on her!
Enjoy your visit to the stud – if you manage to get any photos of her and her baby I’m sure we’d all love to see them…
March 27, 2008 at 14:12 #154072I’ll definitely be taking a lot of photos Lekha (with their permission), and will post them here.

That is excellent news Chris and I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time visiting Ouija Board and foal.
Great photo by the way too Gaz – nice touch !I remember clearly how excited I was meeting Mill House, Stalbridge Colonist, Brigadier Gerard, Dancing Brave and Maori Venture – especially Mill House and Brigadier Gerard (who was such a wonderful horse) – and it is always nice to have that special time with them well away from the racecourse and the crowds.
March 27, 2008 at 18:22 #154113Fantastic filly. I’ll never forget this race, and consider myself very lucky to have been there
