All in on Anthem Alexander for Friday. This is THE group one sprinter in the field and certainly the one with most progression in her. 8/1 will look very silly when all is said and done……
Speaking of Group 1 sprinters, I’ve been backing Due Diligence at all odds in the Diamond Jubilee, 14/1 vs 5/1 Weld’s horse is ridiculous imo.
June 18, 2015 at 12:57 #1106566Boz any thoughts on my PORT DOUGLAS 1st horse to run from my unraced list.

Good to hear from you Tommy. I like the pair to be honest but would edge towards the Weld horse. The Aussie may prove a tough nut to crack but has to be worth taking on. It’ll be interesting to see how MOVIESTA fairs on his first run for Eddie ‘the sprint king’ Lynam. Form shows his limitations shown at 6f but old Eddie’s no mug. He could be an interesting each-way shout.

I have to admit I missed his debut run Darren but plenty seem to be waxing lyrical about this one. He’s already quoted for the Derby and I certainly wouldn’t put you off.
June 18, 2015 at 13:43 #1106589Well well well. Another big juvenile contest sees another of Round Two’s victims get their nose in front. The Coventry run was too bad to be true, I’m telling you this 25/1 is Christmas!
June 20, 2015 at 02:40 #1107262She answered my question today. I’ve always been massively in favour of ANTHEM ALEXANDER and I’ll never drop it. Against this crop she’s by far the classiest, and that’s saying something as this is a real batch!
This girl though, is the next big 120s sprinter. I’m waiting for the morning to come before I get Nunthorpe quotes, as as long as the ground stays solid this one’s an absolute cert
June 21, 2015 at 18:23 #1109618Boz you see replay of port douglas yet
How your Ascot
And which horses you got ante post for rest of year
June 26, 2015 at 21:22 #1116221Just one for tomorrow. I don’t care what anyone says, I maintain that the Round Two form is stronger 2 year old form than any and will prove so when he wins the Dewhurst and then the Guineas next year.
Log Out Island obviously has lines than tie in with the Bolger beast from Ascot, however in ARGENTERO is a colt that’s been laid out for this and looks a more than capable juvenile. The Zoffany crop are holding up well on quicker ground and I’ve taken Boylesports’ money back concession if the favourite wins.

Sorry Darren I still haven’t caught up with Port Douglas. I had a very profitable Royal meeting with the middle three days proving the gold dust in a sandwich where the bread proved a couple of shockers. Brilliant meeting personally though
June 27, 2015 at 12:10 #1116764Argentero stinks more in the market than my bathroom the morning after I’ve had a doner kebab plastered in chilli sauce. Can only summise that the support for Jessie’s horse has led them to flip flop for second favouritism, as you’d assume Log Out Island will be safe.
I still hold the faith, by the end of the day a lot of people will lend themselves to my way of thinking – just how did Round Two run so poorly at Royal Ascot?

25/1 is still available, looks big now but will seem massive come 6 o’clock
June 27, 2015 at 14:35 #1116899Well this is getting a tad ridonculous, right out to 13/2 now
I just hope the price holds, thank god for best odds guaranteed!June 27, 2015 at 17:02 #1117021Strange sort of race where my fella looked a bit rushed off his feet. It all seemed to happen a bit quickly for him today. Perhaps the switch to quicker ground wasn’t as ideal as I’d thought. He is out of a Pivotal mare after all.
Weaker folk than I would be going soft by now, beginning to question it all. I’m not concerned however, I KNOW I have the Guineas winner in Round Two. I’m not about to give up now
July 8, 2015 at 00:26 #1126481I am done. I’m absolutely done. I’m going through a bad break up and things are hard. That though isn’t helpful to the fact I’ve made an absolute c*ck of myself in this place. Once upon a time I had respect here. Those days are long gone. Nothing I say or do is the right thing thing and I’m constantly mugging myself off.
I may well reinvent myself but for now I need to smell the delicious scent of fresh air. I’m not good enough, clever enough or thick skinned for here at times. When it’s good it’s brilliant but when I’m writing to fill the void and dig holes for myself it hurts. Others may have the depth of character to hide behind computer screens but I don’t, not now.
I miss being popular, I miss being respected. I don’t get that anymore. I don’t expect it, nor do I deserve it, but without it I can’t continue.
Farewell friends, it was fun while it lasted
July 8, 2015 at 07:00 #1126547Ayup Boz.
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself here mate, keep it fun. Am sure you have the admiration of many a fellow TRFer.
Keep your head up buddy, sorry to hear of your break up, hope things look up for you soon
July 8, 2015 at 10:45 #1126626I’m taking a break from the punting at the moment boz.
When things are happening in life I cant fully focus on the horses and make too many mistakes, I’ve got other more important priority’s at the moment. I’m staying on here mind to keep up to date with it all and wind up ginge.
Keep well mate and like tb says keep your head up.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 8, 2015 at 12:49 #1126651You’re respected by more people than you believe on here Boz. But am sure while going through a break up every bad thing/voice feels worse than it once did. You’re doing the right thing in giving up for a while. Racing is the great triviality, it does not matter in the great scheme of things. Everyone has a time (I know the feeling) when they need a break and to admit you need that break takes courage. Come back when you’re in a better place – as Boz or someone else. And if you’re ever thinking of going to Newbury or Salisbury – give me a pm.
See you soon.

Value Is EverythingJuly 10, 2015 at 15:13 #1128277Takes a lot of nerve to put up your own bets Boz, and everybody goes through a losing streak. Worth bearing in mind, that if you’re going to do a DLAP thread on here, then it’s safe to say that you do it off the back of making a few quid…….otherwise you’d be mad to start one. Don’t think you’ve anything to worry about “respect-wise” on here, and my best advice would be not to take this place too seriously.
Hopefully you’ll be back soon with a smile on your face, and best of luck in your personal life too………….break ups are bloody difficult, and I hope you come through it unscathed.
July 12, 2015 at 07:47 #1130540I wish you all the best Boz and hope you’ll be back soon. Your contributions have been brilliant over the last few years and I don’t think you have been mugging yourself off at all. You’ve had some good winners and a bit of bad luck. You are right that run of Round Two was too bad to be true. I saw Jim Bolger and the oweners standing around the horse after the Coventry and I don’t think I have ever seen a group of more depressed looking people. JB went on record as saying he thought he had a Guineas colt there. The stable form has been pretty terrible and I am sure something will come to light and we’ll see a totally different horse next time.
As for the DLAP’s well you might have seen how badly I was doing only a month ago. It is really hard to keep posting when you are losing but racing, like life, can turn round very quickly and as long as you keep doing what you believe in your fortunes will change.
Have a few weeks off, recharge the batteries and come back better than ever.
