One of the best riders at his best, but tbf that was quite a long time ago.
Seems a shame he’s having his last rides at a place I’ve never heard of.

And his last mount, a 7/4 fav on the PMU, is a NON-RUNNER!!!!

    Happy retirement Olivier!

Here you are Mark, all the info you could need:

    https://www.hippodrome-lateste.com/

It’s on the south west coast not far from Bordeaux. Big training centre for thoroughbreds and trotters as well as the racecourse.

View the gallery of pictures at the top of the page to see the one of the cartoons on the wall by the paddock.

I missed the egg hunt!

    Thanks for that, Alan.
Not sure the cartoons will catch on over here.

Looks a nice place to visit.

Certainly wanted a very low-key swansong – that second race race at La Teste where he finished second looked like a very lame affair

Five minute interview with him from the parade ring available on Equidia (under Actualites) if your French is up to it or at least better than mine! Seems to be blaming weight issues for leaving mid-season. Comes across as a very pleasant individual. Think he said also the best horse racing is in England!
