craig brown captured him perfectly in private eye :

"I stand before this ice-cream truck today humbled by the task before me, grateful for the trust my wife and my daughters have bestowed upon me, mindful of the great and inspiring choice of popsicles and ice-creams and other light refreshments both borne and consumed by our ancestors before us.

We should rejoice in this choice and this variety.

It is the differences between iced comestibles that make them so attractive.

So let us celebrate these differences.

"Daddy," says Malia Ann. "May I please have a Tutti Frutti?"

I look at her through these eyes, the eyes of a father both loving and dutiful.

"I say to you this, Malia Ann," I say.

"And this I say to you. The Tutti Frutti is a fine ice cream. Of that there is no doubt.

But let us go further than that. Yes, the Tutti Frutti has all the truly outstanding qualities of a great ice cream.

It is cold. It is colorful. And it is good to the taste.

It remains firm upon the stick, and is able within its noble resilience to endure the harsh heat of sunlight.

"But I tell you this, Malia Ann. Once an ice cream is eaten, it is eaten.

And that ice cream remains eaten.

For all its worth, that ice cream once swallowed does not have it within its power to reappear on that stick.

That is our one true sorrow.

But it avails us nothing to pretend that is any other way.

So now, Malia Ann, is the time for realism.

Now is the time for tough choices–choices that is in the heart of each one of us to address.

Now, Malia Ann, is the time to confront the popsicle."

    Robnorth:

Barack has shown no more sense than Bush in his ability to use his brain and even less in using his teleprompter.

The people’s flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyred dead,
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts’ blood dyed its ev’ry fold.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

Look ’round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow’s vaults its hymns are sung
    Chicago swells the surging throng.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

It waved above our infant might,
    When all ahead seemed dark as night;
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We must not change its colour now.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

It well recalls the triumphs past,
    It gives the hope of peace at last;
The banner bright, the symbol plain,
Of human right and human gain.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

It suits today the weak and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place
To cringe before the rich man’s frown,
And haul the sacred emblem down.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

With heads uncovered swear we all
    To bear it onward till we fall;
Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

Pete, although the US is a free country, socialism and any thought of sharing is illegal over there, unless it is a sort of charity type event.

The singing of commie songs is also illegal, they would have you off to Gitmo for some serious BDSM if this was an American forum.

Craig, just because Obama is black doesn’t mean America is going to end up like Nigeria or something, you just need to chill out and relax. Jews are running the show anyway, so if he tries to do anything too radical he won’t be aloud to.

No, America will not end up like Nigeria but that doesnt have anything to do with Barack being black or your assertion that jews control everything!

Any way I am off to dinner with the Rothschild’s and my buddies from Bilderberg as we work out the next year or so of hiding from the public that are political leaders and royal family are all inter-related lizard people!

Well, it’s sort of like an asserty/fact, rather than an assertion about the Jews running the show.

    Timothy Geithner

.. is heading up the US contingent at the IMF and is working the magic for Obama with the cash.

    Ben Bernanke

.. is Tomothy’s deputy, he is also the current chairman of the board of governors of the US Federal reserve. Ben is

    Alan Greenspan’s

.. you don’t need to worry with these folks in charge they a the best of a poor bunch you have to chose from. Whoever holds the pursue strings in any economy is in charge, not necessarily the people who say they are.

Reminds me of the radio station I work at: Where there is a sign that explains you cannot be racist or say things about religious groups and underneath someone put: "Except for Brit’s and Jews!"

.. I don’t see anything racist about pointing out that the folk at the head of the US money tree are Jewish, they don’t exactly keep it a secret. Better them than some bible bashing fat red neck who wants to declare war on everyone.

    So no stereotyping there then!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe me I live in the middle of fat red neck bible bashers. fat red neks are great, but when they are religious fat rednecks, there is no way to reason with them. Jay-Zuzz rules y’all!

.. I see Obama wants to cut the amount of nuclear weapons in the world now, that’s pretty good isn’t it? Seeing as the Iron Curtain came down about 20 years ago there’s been no need for these massive arsenals to be constantly upgraded and maintained, other than to transfer tax money into private industry.

They served their purpose of keeping the peace in Europe and it’s about time they were got rid of.

I can’t believe I’m saying/thinking this as someone who used to do cnd marches and was a member of multilateralist groups [would have been at Greenham Common if I hadn’t’ve had children to raise at the time], but there were two sayings that stuck in my head; one of them was ‘if you want peace prepare for war’, the other being that, to have no nuclear weapons was ‘to go naked into the conference room’. Being good and honest and peaceful doesn’t mean that other people are of the same mind. If my great hero, Tony Benn has one fault it is that he sees too much goodness in others; perhaps Obama is of the same mindset. I guess I’m just getting old and cynical……However, if we could use even a fraction of the money that we spend on arms and wars to reduce global warming and stop people starving how much better a world we would live in.

I was also into CND but in hindsight I think that was wrong, without the threat of mutual destruction I’m pretty sure there would have been another war that we wouldn’t have won. We couldn’t have beaten the Eastern bloc with conventional warfare.

I was so terrified when the cruise missiles were brought here; the thought of them being driven round our rural roads at the dead of night was like some childhood nightmare; Far from protecting us, they just made us a prime target. I was never a unilateralist, although the CND march that I went to in London was one of the most empowering things I have ever done in my life. What was strange was that quite a few people in my peace group had strange things happen with our phones during that time, and we reckoned our phones were being tapped. Returning to the present, I mentioned to a very wise old lady that I met a few weeks ago that I couldn’t understand why we were in Afghanistan; no oil there, I said….no she replied, but there is gas.

All Presidents approval ratings fall after they are in office for a while. The stimulus isn’t working because it isn’t enough and it won’t fix a problem that goes much, much deeper. I for one was glad for it because it helped me pay my bills when I truly needed it. I lost my job in 2008 and have jumped from temp job to temp job and find myself again on unemployment. It’s frustrating. I have no health insurance and having three serious bouts of bronchitis I can say that I’m not only broke but downhearted. It’s not something that one man can fix in a year but at least I feel more confident that with him than I did with Bush. It got to the point where if I heard him speak one more time I was going to put a bullet in my head. I have to say that the government incentive to help out auto sales (an industry my Sister works in) did help a lot of Americans and while it was a band aid attempt, it was successful. The job market is sloooooowly starting to come back to life but it’s going to be a long road for it. At least he’s trying and not on some revenge plot for his Daddy which is more than I can say for the last bozo we had in there. Yes, I said bozo. He was as phony as a $3 bill.

Obama came into office talking of change but has brought any change what so ever?

He came in with a slick propaganda machine that was just too much for the old grey white of conservative America. He was much like J.F.K…he didn’t have much meat to his policies but he as a orator he could speak to any lay man. But so much of his change’s and policies have turned sour and he came promising the youth the world but in reality has delivered very little change.

He has passed a record new defence budget of something of 3/4 of a trillion dollars this year. For a man that craved and spoke to the anti-war vote he has done little if anything to change the war situation. Instead you could even say he is getting as bad if not worse that Bush. Their is so many civilian death’s on his watch…he has more of a gung-ho approach to war and he has the Bush aide Robert Gates still in charge of the DOD. This is very strange for man that wished to aim to end these war’s. In fact he is not winning anything and the sooner he and his cabinet finally "get this" only then can he move out of the hole he has dug himself. The Military Industrial complex that dominates his country is now banging the war drums for war against Iran. However the White House is threading very fine line with its response. Their are not taking on a country with no equipment. They are taking on a country with vast power and resources. The recent emerging talk against Russia will hurt America in the long run. Russian’s hate America despite their blaise type new realsionship. Its quite ironic for dictators that we know so well from investing in sporting ventures in England are now asking for the West to cut Iran out but the President of Iran is democratically elected  we hear. Even still a war against Iran for Obama will be nothing short of a disaster for Obama in Foreign Policy terms. He is wrong in Iraq..he is wrong in Afghanistan and he be wrong in Iran. He could set off the new World War of our time. Hilary Clinton is obviously a woman that infuriates most western eastern leaders and certainly does no help to the situation.

On the bay he has blackmailed(altho some would call this normal politics) countries to take his concentration camp detaines. He struggling around the legal problems. Was bush’s fault again but he should have done more research before talking bull on how he was going to close it straight away.

His efforts in Israel are futile. The latest list of war crimes are nothing but a footnote to him. No hard speak no hard words. Just george mitchell to save another of his daft policies. The Israeli propaganda machine is better than most and they certainly would be moved by a black democrat. I think this conflict will go for many centuries. The jews are arrogant their cocky and their they have the power behind them. The palestians have terrorist groups undermining their message and a deep resentment towards the jewish people. This is NI but 10 times worse.

His economic policies are daft….the trillions of dollars have done little to stimulate anything. He seems to do something very unamerican and reward lazyness. Tax the productive to the hilt and undermine USA corps with his attacks. Socialism will not work in America. His health care was hurried through on the death of a kennedy. A nice romanticism to it all i guess but most americans don’t want it.

He handling of the gulf of mexico was again high profile because it lacked strength and conviciton. Instead he came to late to the party and caught up drinking too much too fast and came out with bizarre statements against BP. Obviously nearly all are justified and Tony Hayward was just a disgraceful sight to almost all Yanks but it was almost gutter press. Ask going to kick and so on. Robert Kennedy the greatest Kennedy and the greatest president USA never had would be turning in his grave as such loutish behaviour. In crisis the Kennedy’s always spoke of pulling together as a nation. Obama went the other way and went hell and high leather after the Brits but in fact he damaged his own economy by ending oil drilling for a period of the gulf coast. A bizarre thing to do since it was BP and BP only that have such a lousy record in health and safety. A strange move.

Plenty of other gaffes including being on talk shows and swoozing the press with lavish dinners and coverage. I not sure American appreciates the White House coming in through their tv sets unless its a national emergency. Its generally a very harding working anti lazy low tax rate country and thats how people want it to be.

Obviously foreign realtions with the east have improved and he has done many interesting things and successful things in his presidency but it has very little effect on the ordinary American. The left wing vote against war’s will not vote for him again or the youth…he will have vets coming back with horrific health mental and pysholigical problems to tell. I was hoping he would have some sort of way to end the wars. Instead with wikileaks it seems the Obama under America looks nasty state.

They obviously don’t even trust the British anymore. They on the outside probaly have less enemies but inside they have more than they think. China being the biggest danger to America.

America under Obama?…what do you make of it?

I think in fairness to Obama there was very little he could actually do. His healthcare reforms are probably the most important thing as this will have a long term positive effect on peoples lives.

.. as for foriegn policy, well I agree, the democrats are inward looking and isolationists .. so I think he’s done a pretty good job keeping them engaged myself.

He’s a lot better than Sarah Palin dontyathink .. :D
